"Once the world was full of wonders, but it belongs to humans now. We creatures have all but disappeared. Demons, vampires and witches, hiding in plain sight, fearful of discovery, ill at ease, even with each other. But as my father used to say, in every ending, there is a new beginning. "
Despite coming from a witch family, historian Diana Bishop tries to ignore her origin and magical power by all means. But everything starts to change when she opens up an ancient book and eventually meet Matthew Clairemont, who is a vampire. The book is somehow very important to the species (witches, vampires and demons) as it supposedly holds tremendous knowledge and power and Diana is the only person that the book responds to :v
Knowing this truth, all the species go crazy about finding Diana and retrieving the book, while Matthew realizes it's not just the book that is making him interested in Diana, but it's something else. Things go sideways when Matthew and Diana are willing to break the codes of congregation, a council-alike entity made up by the powerful members of the species aiming to keep the peace among one another :v
Talking about the new British show @adiscoveryofwitchestv .So far I'm loving the story. It's gripping, intense and dark with mind-pleasing romance scenes. The idea that species such as witches and vampires live among us, hiding in plain sight, has been portrayed brilliantly. Honestly its fun to watch such story being set in present time, rather than in ancient time. Show's two main characters are played by my personal favorites; Teresa Palmer (Remember the Warm Bodies movie?) and Matthew Goode (The actor from Ordeal by Innocence and the movie Leap Year). Both of them are acting brilliantly. I hope the story keeps its edge sharp till the finale.
So far 7 episodes have been aired and the IMDB rating says 8.5/10. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Fantasy Drama shows :')
Series name: A Discovery of Witches
Genre: Fantasy, Drama, Romance
"The Dragon and The Wolf"
(Well, if you have watched this episode, you'll know that the title described it all)
I felt rather torn throughout this season, and especially this finale, some parts, I find, were very cool and very satisfying to watch, just like every other GoT episode, it has amazing CGI and amazing dialogues.
And yet some others were so.. cliche.. it just felt like it wasn't what this show promised us back on season 1, in this episode, yes, I cheered, I smiled and I laughed. (Especially when a certain "clever" someone is tricked by some certain kids)
But I didn't bite my lips, and I didn't watch with shock. (Well, except maybe Dinklage and Headey's scene, they both delivered such great acting)
It's all becoming too predictable to an old GoT fan which have always loved this show's upredictability.
So well, I do hope next season wouldn't be as rushed and predictable.
Definitely a theme that ran deeply in my veins....right along side: "Fuck it!" But, I've learned how to curb some of the negative aspects of the later..... (most of the time) Lol.
