Do you ever have times were your just not inspired? When you feel like you’ve lost your creative sparkle? Lately I feel like I’ve been back on form but for the last week or two I feel like it’s all gone a bit to pot! I’m putting it down to a serious lack of 💤 since my littlest has been struggling with his teeth! As much as I love the muted tones in this photograph I can’t help but feel depicts my mood at the moment! I’ve been super productive today & feeling good so a bath & an early night will hopefully leave me feeling back to myself tomorrow!!!
On Saturday the sky was grey with some of the worst rain we’ve seen all year but in the studio we were snug, drinking tea & sewing iPad stands! It wasn’t just grey outside as each of the lady’s also picked a different grey fabric! Our house is no exception- you can’t beat a big if grey!!
Enjoying the warm spring evening last night ❤️ I love dressing her up so cute and sweet while she's little 👶🏽 Fabric is our own design of Farmhouse Kittens in blue 🐱

Far from picture perfect but I couldn’t wait to get a quick snap of Daisy’s new curtains! Made using our new rose pink floral I’ve also got enough to make some matching cushions too! Definitely more photos to follow 📷
A needle pulling thread....2nd curtain finished tonight with a slight 48hour delay! Can’t wait to get it up tomorrow once my little ladies awake & get her ‘big girls room’ that one step close to being finished!
I think this beautiful little crayon roll made by Georgia yesterday was the last piece of this daisy print fabric- I’ve had the biggest crush on it all summer!!!! I’m super sad to see it go...so much so that I’ve put lots of new rolls of vintage florals in my ‘shopping cart’ on the wholesalers website! Although this will mean creating some space our lovely little shop SO there’s a BIG SALE on the horizon...details to come very soon!!!
Lovely moments last night when these jewellery rolls were turned right way out & all was revealed 👌🏻there was lots to learn on this workshop; zips, interfacing, hens, turning tubes, colour snaps, dabbling with leather & punching holes! well done ladies!!! ✂️
My little girl lives in her Polly pinafores - she has dug in the mud, made slime and playdoh and dropped chocolate down it several times but it always washes up so well 😊

Its BACK!!!!! My favourite EVER fabric....I have a ridiculous amount of things made in it which I’ll be sharing with you whilst I try & calm my excitement! Whenever I manage to get my hands on a roll it always sells out super fast so I’ve already snaffled away a few metres to kit out Daisy’s new ‘big girls room’ along with its sister fabric- a gorgeous blush pink floral!!! I’ll post photos of this soon too! 100% cotton. 112cm/44” wide. £6pm
How many times do you see a ready to wear item and think “I could make that!”?!
I used to think it all the time but would buy the thing anyway - for the convenience factor or because who knew when I’d get around to making it...?!
But over the last two years I’ve gotten more and more into my sewing and it has given me a new perspective on my wardrobe.
If I really want something I take the time to make it, and if I’m not willing to do that, I ask myself, do I really need it after all?! I still make the odd purchase but hardly ever and it is much more considered than ever before.
A lovely bonus to this is that I’m much happier with a curated wardrobe that is more my style and less cluttered so I can see and actually wear what’s in there!
Last week I shared these gorgeous images from @elsies_sewing_shack of her super cute snowman dress & skirt....it seems these have really inspired you all & this is our second Christmas fabric to be almost **SOLD OUT** in a matter of days!!! At just £2.60per metre it’s not going to be around much longer- Comment or PM if you’d like to bag yourself some before it’s gone!
This has been my favourite of our new workshops, there’s so much to learn & gadgets to use but most of all they really will make the most wonderful Christmas presents! We have a few ‘bring your own machine’ spaces left on Wednesdays workshop for those of you who’d like to get to know your machine a little better too!
This patchwork panel took 9 strips 48x6cm- 3 in each fabric! It was a great way to build confidence using a rotary cutter, learn the basics of patchworking & use up scarp fabric! Bring or 3 different fat quarters- you won’t use them all but will have fun mixing & matching- keep your left over fabric for more future social sewing mini makes xx
Two of these beautiful denim dresses made today have a super special job to do- made by two lovely mummies who met at baby massage & have spent their mat leave together, their girls will wear these dresses on their first birthdays just days apart 🎂 I don’t think it get more special than that! I wouldn’t be sane or anywhere near as happy without the support of my mummy friends & im lucky beyond belief to have these ladies & their mini’s in mine, daisy & olivers lives! What a way to create a lasting memory of that first year- a year that goes quicker than no other!! X
I’ve gone totally out of my comfort zone with this fabric combo- if it’s not duckegg, muted or ‘safe’ then it’s normally out of the question! But @lorenharrison2803 used this grey floral the other week & I was totally swooning over it- I just had to use it on something, anything!!!! Anyone else play it safe? & admit they need to be a bit braver? This is nexts weeks mini make so I’m probably going to be pinching fabric combo ideas in pursuit of being braver 🙊
I sort of forgot I had this hacking jacket, I made it many moons ago after @guthrieghani made a dreamy jacket on @thegbsblive i used a piece of gorgeous vintage tweed my step mum gave me- her Aunty worked in a woollen mill during ww2 & she’d stashed this away! In my teaching days when had to be suited & booted it got a lot of wear but I admit it’s not seen the light of day through my pregnancies & adjustment to mum bod BUT I loved wearing it last night a class with my skinny black Jeans & chelsea boots! I think it’s safe to say it’s going to get a little more action this A/W!

The best gifts aren’t always the most expensive they are thoughtful & practical (can you tell im a mum) these iPad stands are great if your following a tutorial/digital dress pattern/YouTube vid & if I could cook or bake then I’m sure they’d be great for following recipes too! Admittedly they’re also great for watching Netflix on when I find the time!! £12 for the session which includes all materials & pattern ✂️
Although the autumnal tones are creeping into the trees I’m not writing off the ‘greens’ just yet! We’ve lived in our house for a little under 5months now so we are seeing the garden change through the seasons, it’s exciting to think what bulbs are going to pop in the spring & now seeing how the trees are changing colour too!
Wow...I loved these little lavender bunnies but wasn’t sure how everyone else would love them just as much...16 sewers made a whole colony! Filled with either pulses for a or stuffed & of course my very own harvested lavender! Safe to say the studio smells AMAZING now!
What’s on the horizon for you?
We have a couple of very exciting months coming up at Indy Bindy!!
First up, these gorgeous complementary tulip prints are back in stock so I’ll be uploading them to the shop today. You can buy them via the link in my bio.
We also have some fresh new designs coming into the store and a whole new way for you to access our fabrics to be announced.
Keep an eye out - there is lots in the works and I can’t wait to share it all with you!!
when an image optimises the way you feel 👌🏻I’m putting together Daisy’s A/W wardrobe, all of a sudden she’s grown out of everything, the temperature has plummeted & she’s developed a huge opinion on what she will & wont wear (she’s 2years old) so I’ve been so careful choosing her pieces that I hope she’ll approve of! I’ve also got to think of potty training practicality too so it was a tough brief! I love her in pinafores & matching bows so I’m thinking of whipping a few up in these fabric!Does anyone else have these sorts of dilemmas with dressing their children???
After last weeks gorgeous results on our jewellery roll course I couldn’t resist buying just about every colour of 12” zip the wholesalers stocked 🙈 & im delighted that we’re able to sell them at the reduced price of 75p zip... great quality, great price!!
Here's a close up of that beautiful #fabric @no.idle.hands used to make her jane blouse (see last post).
It's a beautifully soft and drapey plain rayon challis fabric. This fabric breathes well and is really lovely to handle and sew with. You can create really pretty tops, blouses, skirts and dresses with this fabric and it is relatively easy to sew and presses like a dream. Available in a fantastic range of 26 colours so there is bound to be one you love!
And if you would like to see this fabric in action we have a video of it on our website showing you it's movement!
Just £4.99 per metre, it's an absolute bargain for such a lovely quality fabric. Find it at Minerva in all the colour options here; https://www.minervacrafts.com/shop/fabric/dress-fabrics/pan-rayon-1-m-plain-rayon-challis-dress-fabric?colour=Teal
Getting the distinct impression I’m obsessed with tartan 😬😂 ok so there definitely could be worse things to Be addicted to! Tartan pj pants...just need to find a super snuggly top & Chucky socks to team with them! £7pm & 100% cotton ❤️
That’s it- my hypothetical maternity leave is over, I’ve not had a break from work for the last 3 years but I’ve have struggled to find my passion for making myself clothes! I’ve never lost my passion for sewing, fabric or crafts- dear god these things have help to keep me sane during times where my body has grown & changed, my hairs come out my the handful, I’ve had little sleep & generally felt & looked bedraggled. I’ve had the most wonderful & precious times of my life in these 3 years; growning, giving birth to & raising 2 babies 18months apart, we’ve moved house twice & ive moves studios twice....pwoar it sounds a bit bonkers actually but it’s no surprise that sewing my own wardrobe has had to take a back seat! BUT if I’m honest I haven’t liked the shape my bodies become since I’ve become a mother until now, I’m starting to regain a little control & im excited to dress myself again! It’s hard not to get disheartened & feel like that person/body shape/dress size you once were is an impossible reach but it will, with time, a little work & self belief! 👩👧👦xx
