Given the smoke and unhealthy air quality across the #Bayarea , Dr. Fleming wants to remind all of you to flush your eyes of the irritants in the air if you must step outside. Use preservative-free over the counter artificial tears which look like this. Refresh and Systane are great. And if you must be outside, wear your #stylishglasses to shield the smoke.

It was awesome seeing Todd and Leigh on their most recent visit to Charlotte. We couldn’t love their brand more. They truly are the most humble, generous and caring family. They are fierce with business and despite their success they take the time to meet supporters of their brand, to listen to their wants/needs and to share business ideas. We love your new designs and can’t wait to see more!! 😘
Here is Dr. Rebecca hard at work getting Cornerstone ready for patients!! 👀 (or maybe she’s just YouTubing baby hedgehogs again?) 🎉WE PASSED INSPECTIONS!!🎉We will be opening our doors and seeing patients Black Friday (11/23)! **Schedule an eye exam online via our website (link in bio!)**
🔞 🚨 Cardiac tamponade. ⚠ cardiac tamponade drainage surgery through a perocardic window, this patient suffered a gunshot wound in a street fight, we performed an emergency thoracotomy to remove the bullet 💉 have you ever seen how a cardiac tamponade is drained ❓A cardiac tamponade is a medical emergency (as a result of wound shot), characterized by a high pressure in the pericardium, usually by pericardial effusion, compressing the heart, causing the filling during diastole to decrease and the pumping of blood to be inefficient, resulting in a quick shock and often, death.
[Love Story at Harvard] Not only is it a classic Korean drama, but it’s also the story of us 💑 (Swipe👆🏻for more engagement photos). Thank you @storyofstyle for inviting me to share our story! #lovevsarrangedmarriage ——
1️⃣ Love or arranged? Love.
2️⃣ How did you guys meet? I was a first-year Harvard medical student. He was a second-year Harvard dental student. We met on a “booze cruise” social night in the Boston Harbor. We bonded over our Cali roots and UC pride. Hard to believe that our homes were only 30 min apart in SoCal, but we ended up meeting 300 miles away in Boston. I convinced him to stop wearing flip flops. He helped me buy my first pair of real boots. Together, we survived the winter cold and studied into the wee hours of the night.
3️⃣ How many years of marriage? 3 years of marriage. 4 years of cross-country long-distance engagement. 11 years together overall.
4️⃣ What is the secret of a long and happy marriage? We’re too young to give advice on marriage, but here’s how we got through long-distance during medical training:
🔸Send care packages filled with edible treats and photo memories whenever possible. 🔸FaceTime dinner for special occasions - he would have my favorite meal delivered to my door! 🔸Sign up for credit cards that earn airline miles. We did countless 48-hour trips from West 🔁 East coast. 🔸Avoid scheduling vacation at the same time to maximize time together- He would visit me when I was on call and vice versa. 🔸Have a clear end goal and remind each other about the light at the end of the tunnel 💫.
Happy weekend! What are some of your tips for a successful relationship? ❤️

Powerful photo of blood, sweat and tears left in an emergency room!
Emergency medicine is a true team sport. It takes the whole department and a lot of effort to really resuscitate someone who is very sick. But at the end of the day it's a privilege to be in a discipline where you get to see someone on their worst day of their entire life, and if you can make that a little better, you've done your job.
