Do you have emergency snacks around? I do. I keep some at the head of my bed, and some by my couch spot. For a few reasons: In case I’m too depressed to get up, but need sustenance. In case I forgot to eat for so long that I’m tired/headachy and getting up will require too much. To double check that I’m not just hangry. Cause my therapist told me to. And cause I like eating yummy things. My general go-to’s are granola bars, fruit bars, nuts, seeds, or nut-like grains, - which makes sense considering they need to last.
Another type of art therapy you can try is Nature Art. This can be done in a vast amount of ways. Paint with mud, make a collage, do potato stamps, take nature photos from an unusual perspective, create a dance in the outdoors, carve wood. As there are many possible ways to make nature art, there are many reasons to do so. Grounding, reconnection to self/Mother Nature/higher-power, slowing down, insight into the importance of the outdoors, exercise, and much more. I made this little leaf collage today, just for fun. I have some much cooler ones I made long ago in frames, I’ll post them later. - Have you ever made nature art? What does it mean to you? Care to share? Will you be joining us next Sunday for our Halloween event, The Haunted Garden?? Maleficent will be coming, along with her friend, the Evil Queen. They’re both ready to have the most dreadful and terrible time. We hope you’ll join us too, if you dare...
Thank-you @wanderlustartndesign for sharing your creation with us, and explaining how art is helpful to your mental health. I love the colors! - Have something you’d like to share? Message me or email email@example.com
Almost all the leaves are gone already! At least we lucked out and stuck a few days of awesome weather in after snow less than a month ago. Headed out to enjoy @meewasinvalley with my trail guide (or at least she thinks she is). If anyone is looking for an actual map of all the awesome meewasin has to explore, hit me up! Might have a few still kicking around...
Some warm weather, a bit of wind...had @surfer_jonny compelled to windsurf a bit of pavement! Any longboard will work, and the #redpaddleco windsurf rig works equally well on water as it does on the pavement! Stop by the shop to learn more. #exploreyxe#windycity

I was honoured to sit amongst the fan club tonight for my beautiful friend @kimberly_ssdc as she shared her journey of turning her passion into a thriving entrepreneurial business
I have watched her step into her brilliant power over the years as her dance school has blossomed and become such an integral cornerstone of our now monstrous Latin dance community
My salsa family means the world to me. These people are there for me to celebrate every win, to provide arms to hold me when I am at my lowest, and to give me space to be silly and free. Without you, Kim, this would never have happened
Such a wonderful reminder to us all of the amazing power that lies within us. Take a risk, do that thing, tell that person, and create some magic. The world needs your gifts •
