Last night’s stunning premiere after party for The Mule took place at Baltaire Restaurant in Brentwood. The soiree included a plethora of gorgeous florals, elegant lounge seating and VIP vignettes. In addition, there was a Southern inspired menu complete with an over the top raw bar and passed Mint Juleps upon arrival. The A-list crowd ate, drank and enjoyed the wonderful sounds of live Jazz music throughout the night. Huge thank you to our partners at THE FIRM and Warner Bros. for bringing us in on another incredible event.

Once that contract is signed, there will be little, if any, wiggle room should a hidden cost be discovered at a later date. That's why our event pro tip is to always remember that negotiations should happen BEFORE the contract is signed. You've hired an event planner for their expertise, right? Then use it! Don't sign your venue contract without having your event management company review it for hidden costs. A good event planner will know what to look for and if there's ever a "been there/done that" scenario that every event planner should be familiar with, it's venue contracts. You may be experienced on the client side; running an event for multiple consecutive years—but never assume that there won't be hidden costs in a venue contract if your event moves to a different location; whether that's a different city or just a different venue. No two contracts are alike. You don't want to learn after the fact that you're going to be charged $30/each for every box you ship to your hotel. Even if you pride yourself on your discerning eye, it never hurts to have an expert take a look before you sign on the bottom line. .

To have an open bar OR not to have an open bar. That IS the question we have to ask ourselves as event planners when we are designing this season's holiday parties. There are plenty of opinions on the matter that leave you second guessing and over analyzing this fundamental question. It is my opinion that if you want to keep the party rocking, keep that bar open! Nothing stops a party quicker than shutting down the flow of alcohol.
Another thought: ensure the safety of your guests by partnering with a ride-sharing service like @dryverservice or http://chasersdd.com/! Having fun a great but so is staying alive.

Another D Day w my favourites. It’s not the first event I done but that didn’t stop me from having a nervous attack. I guess that happens when both your heart and head really root for something great to come out the way you had planned. I can be easily spotted running around in jeans looking like hell like a minion before party and trying to look fabolously like a normal guest... but the secret is.. in my head there was a big mess 😭

[What was your first job]
I was a housekeeper for a holiday inn express in a small town I grew up in at the age of 16. I have so much respect for the housekeeping department and how hard they work on a daily basis. This truly is the hardest job in hospitality and the people that do it, do not get enough credit.
