Chesterlands Spotlight was wonderful in his first prelim last weekend at Radnor! He jumped around easily, looking for the next fence. One green drive by but so impressed by Bruces 6 year old! #chesterlandsspotlight#eventing
Tip Tuesday - Does your horse already receive Chiropractic care? Why not increase the benefit by combining massage and chiropractic care! Receiving chiropractic care either before or after massage increases the effectiveness of both treatments, improving range of motion, promoting faster healing, extending the length of both treatment benefits, and improving overall function. I believe in a team approach to your Equine’s wellness and am happy to work alongside all team members including your veterinarian, farrier, chiropractor, trainer, etc.
throwback to Kentucky three day event... because we got our tickets yesterday!😍
tickets opened yesterday and we had to convince our mom to let us buy them during school and thank goodness we did because dang people grab those front seats FAST! but we have front row seats in dressage day, show jumping, and the Saturday night Grand Prix! we got stuck in the bleachers last year bc we didn’t know about it (tho we did get front seats Friday night) but we snatched them this year! so excited it’s going to be a good year!! if anyone is going, dm me so we can maybe meet up (even tho i didn’t meet ANYONE last year because there’s so many people there)😂
if you’ve never gone before, try and go to lrk3de someday it’s WORTH it. it’s such a fun weekend and there’s so much shopping & horses & i love being surrounded by other equestrians just like us it’s lit😂😂 im going with my barn squad but open to meeting you guys so dm me if you’re going!💕💕
The feral donkey isn't looking too bad for a horse that's been out of work for well over a month! He may have some serious muscle wastage going on, but, hopefully, we will have some answers after the MRI on Thursday 🤞

i rly think the show on the 30th is off for me :/ it’s just WAY sooner than i thought
i’m just looking for local places to school rn, but none for october or the beginning of november
doesn’t help that honey gets REALLY sore in the winter. she always has had a bad time adjusting to cold weather and wears herself out🤷🏻♂️
it’ll happen in the near future, but if i took her to the show on the 30th it would suck for both of us lol
sorry i’ve been MIA for a few days, just got caught up in other stuff. i don’t know if i’ll be able to go to the barn this week until saturday but i’m hoping to be more active on here.
this is from last tuesday, juniper was pretty good. she’s getting out of the habit of trying to dip her head to the ground in the canter, especially since we changed her bit to a baucher. ~
Oh look at that awkward baby body 🙈Griffin needs a lot of muscle work. He is very weak through his hind end, back, and neck, or his topline. This, along with his evasion of contact, means that he is not able to carry himself properly. It affects everything from his movement to his rideability, but luckily is a very simple fix. Simple, however does not mean easy or fast. Building muscle in horses, like in people, takes time and special effort and correcting improper musculature, like with Griffin’s left side, is even harder.
So we will start with basic exercises. Things like neck stretches, butt tucks, and belly lifts are starter exercises at the ground, loosening up the muscles to they can work better. I do these before and after every ride. Stretches then tucks/lifts before, then tucks/lifts and stretches afterward. You want stretches to be the first and last thing you do, to ease stiffness and help the muscles work. Under saddle, we are doing slow hill sets at the walk and trot, transitions at the walk and trot, and focusing on moving correctly and comfortably. Notice that everything is done at the slower gaits. This is because he needs to be working well at a slower pace to be able to move faster, and eventually, jump. If he can’t hold himself at the walk, he will definitely not be able to hold himself at the canter.
Fortunately, I’m kinda good at this stuff. He’ll be a new horse in no time. And I’ll continue posting updates as we go!

“Horses don’t care about how much you know until they know how much you care” ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Hi friends, morning to y’all 🌻 I hope everyone’s having a better start to their day (or end to their day, I guess, too?) than I am - I woke at about 2:30am not being able to breathe, again, for like the hundredth time 😅 We think I have acid reflux induced laryngospasms, which is when the epiglottis/vocal cords shut off due to acid reflux rising and it means I can’t breathe at all until they release and relax. During the day it’s not so terrible as they’re a lot shorter normally (a minute) but being woken from sleep for it to last a solid five minutes or longer is pretty terrifying. 😒 BUT I shall continue to prepare for my exams and continue working the horses, and I hope now that I have something for the reflux that these spasms will settle and I can breathe 24/7 😂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So my question today for y’all is how are you feeling? Emotionally, mentally, physically etc... how are you? And my DM’s are always open as well. 😊🌻💖
Yes I know this post is a lil late! So hard to pick from all the stunning photos I now have 😻 My box is packed for Ballarat and feeds have been made, now just to put everything in the float tommorow (and take Eggsy to a friends) and then we are set for our very early departure Friday morning 🙌🏻 Keen! #CaptionThisTB
‘I like that your broken, broken like me’ 🎵
Ah I love this edit! The song worked so well with the different styles of videos 🙌🏻 There’s a little bit of dressage, free-jumping, Helmet Cam and Galloping... Check my other recent (the gallop shot) and see if you can spot my v discreet camera somewhere on my helmet 😉
It’s been a few days and I’m still so proud of how he worked! So consistent and put his best hoof forward towards everything we threw at him 💓 He’s trying so hard at the moment, hope he tries just as hard this weekend! #CaptionThisTB
