Flam is a village in south western Norway in an area known for its fjords. It sits at the end of Aurlandsfjord, a branch of the vast Sognefjord. We left Gudvangen via a the most beautiful luxury passenger ferry I had ever been on. We cruised passed charming towns, sky high waterfalls and a herd of goats negotiating rocky ledges for a well chilled drink. The rugged Norwegian mountains dramatically ending on the fjords shore surrounded us from all sides. It was a comfortable and joyous 2 hour cruise. We arrived in the charming town of Flam where a vintage train awaited to take us for a picturesque ride through the Norwegian countryside.
