UNITY. What the heck does that mean? And why do we care so much about it?
Well, written above is my favorite definition of the word. If you look in Merriam-Webster it’s written second, listed right after “the quality of state of oneness.” I personally prefer “a condition of harmony.” Why? Because even in coming together as women in support of female unity, what makes us stronger is our DIVERSITY. Yes, we can all hope for “oneness” within the human race or “oneness” between all living creatures- for the greatest good and peace on earth.
But I think we are skipping a step... Once we have acknowledged how we are different, what our unique gifts or individual experiences are, and learned about each other THEN we can focus on oneness. To demand oneness before these pursuits seems too much like a concession. It feels like conformity.
The truth is we don’t need to agree on every subject. We don’t need We don’t need to look or do or be a certain way. Our opinions and our voices are valuable BECAUSE they are different. For UNITY to occur, we just need to harmonize these voices. Let us be the voices in the choir that sing for women’s greatest good. Let us come together to heal, to be educated, to grow together in love and understanding. Just as it is with singing, we cannot harmonize if we don’t continue listening to the notes being played and we cannot create anything beautiful if we don’t even try.
La Femme Nouvelle is for female unity. Our voice is one of many thank goodness, and we truly believe we are #strongertogether . Together we can achieve more. .
Does everyone know I love pandas? No lol . Well now you do. Ever since I was a child around 8 years old I found an interest in them. The story is short and simple. Me and my family went to a zoo in San Diego . They have a panda exhibit since 2005!!! Anyways we went as s family group activity thing and I was literally attached to the fence . I would not let go. The panda looked into my soul. Lol he said I’m your fuckin spirit animal !!!!! Love me!!!! Now that I’m older I realize why I actually like pandas. I have five good reasons too.
1. They are the least racist animal you will ever meet. There both black and white😂
2. They are endangered animals and deserve to be respected
3. They are obviously adorable. I mean look in a pandas eyes and say “ your ugly” without saying aww or flinching 😁
4.my two favorite colors are black then white in that order.... people I ain’t racist😊#equality
5. There fuzzy!!!!! If you have a fav animal tell me what it is and why. Love to hear your story❤️
I have a few copies on hand of the @acommunitythread book I made earlier this year. There are 50 portraits inside of 50 lovely people along with excerpts from each interview. Venmo (@JoshuaLanglais) or PayPal (email@example.com) $24 to me along with your address and I’ll send you a signed copy. Buying this book is directly supporting this project and helping me make the next version. Thank you!
I’m arachnophobic and this time of year is terrifying for me because spiders like to set up home in the house. I know arachnophobia is irrational, I know they’re more frightened of me, blah blah. That doesn’t make it any easier, though. At the same time, I don’t want to hurt them in any way so I’m grateful that my Dad can move them for me. While I try to calm my anxiety attack, Ruby stays with me. She’s my protector as I am hers. I am also the spiders’ protector despite my phobia because their lives matter too.
