I wish the matchas I make at work looked as good as this 🍵 #matchaeverydamnday
Speaking of work ☝️ I mentioned on my stories last week that I was concerned about the wastage from our new work building as the kitchens had only plastic cutlery, paper towels and everyone uses disposable coffee cups. I asked for some advice on how to tackle this and got lots of amazing messages from you guys - thank you so much.
Well / here’s an update for you: I casually mentioned to one of the building managers on Monday that I was super passionate about the environment and would love to chat to him about it. He was so onboard with my ideas AND by Tuesday morning there was loads of cutlery to use, all the plastic stuff was gone, and there were tea towels to dry dishes and hands. Success !!! ♻️ Seeing the kitchen at work yesterday honestly made my day. Single-use plastic is a HUGE environmental problem worldwide - in Australia alone 21,000 tonnes of plastic is disposed in landfill annually. 🤯
I haven’t figured out how to tackle the disposable coffee cups yet but was thinking of presenting to the building manager a challenge for ‘waste-free July’ encouraging everyone to get a reusable cup. Any ideas on how to pitch this?? .

When will humans start paying attention to the rest of our animal kingdom? Take a look around at all those who inhabit the sea, sky, and earth. They offer countless lessons that our species in particular would be wise to learn from. Mother Earth is sick, and we need to rediscover our place within the delicate balance that intertwines all living things if we’re going to succeed in helping her heal. #wisefool#saveourseas#saveourearth#saveourplanet
It’s one small step for a woman, one giant leap for the war against plastic!
I love the moon cup: it’s amazingly designed, simple to use and clean, and no waste! It’s actually changed my life.
That being said, this has caused a lot of debate between my friends, and I can understand why people wouldn’t want to use it (e.g cleaning it in a public space & £20 is expensive) but I can’t help but think the pros definitely outweigh the cons.
What do you think?

Grab your cold drink and stop inside the market entrance to pick up your lavender goodness to take back home with you!
Appreciation post for one of the best little brothers in the world. After the accident, he has checked on me and helped me a lot. we may get into arguments, but what siblings don’t? We grew up together. 2 years apart. He is my best friend. And I love him so much! He doesn’t have an Instagram but I’ll just post this anyway💙
If you’re hoping for good news on the climate front, don’t look to the Arctic or Washington (DC). Oddly enough, Wall Street may provide our best glimmer of hope so far this week. - via RePrint app (coming soon!)
The London Mastaba at Serpentine Lake, Hyde Park is Christo’s first large-scale public sculpture in the UK and will float on The Serpentine Lake in Hyde Park from June 18 to September 23, 2018. Constructed of 7,506 horizontally stacked oil barrels, specifically fabricated and painted in shades of red, white, blue and mauve. Christo’s public installation on the lake has an alien presence against London's skyline. It feels more like a "gigantic toy". The sculpture is based on the trapezoid shapes of "mastaba", an Arabic word for bench given to Egyptian tombs and seats found outside homes in ancient Mesopotamia. The mosaic appearance of the barrels in red, blue and mauve create an impressionist-style effect in the shimmering reflection of the lake.

Irresponsible #fishermen almost killed my dog. That's right. Some #sportsman thought it was a good idea to leave their non filiment fishng line laying around the shore. I looked over and saw my dog trailing a couple feet of line. It was down his throat. A light tug caused pain, so I figured he swallowed a hook. A few tense minutes later the line came out unkinked and I could not detect metal with a detection wand so am 95% sure no hook was attached. The line itself could have killed him though. .
Fishing line left by these idiots kill birds, turtles, and other native species. It is our feeling that ANY fisherman, #hunter , or sportsman that litters or damages the resource they use be immediately suspended to ever having a license for the rest of their lives. .
I am a Registered Maine Fishing Guide and take high paying clients out on our lakes and streams. I have in the past, and will continue to end the trip with no refund if this sort of thing occurs. 0 tolerance and is no better than poaching. .

Huge thanks to the organizers of @vegfestcalgary for creating an event that encompasses ethical consumerism, animal justice, and raising awareness to how it intersects with climate change. My gf @mindful_manda and I couldn’t be more proud to be part of the growing vegan community in Calgary and are looking forward to future events! Thanks for creating this space!! 📷: @andreajoy.n
As I'm trying to get as many thesis breaks into a day, I've decided it was time for some healthy Turmeric H2O from @juicebynature. I love it that they sell it in a glass bottle instead of a plastic one. Not only much more sustainable but also nice to have at home to reuse it. Juice by Nature is also very happy to get them back to reuse them if you don't want them yourself!
I love the taste of this H2O which also contains lots of great ingredients for a healthy skin. They also made this one vegan by swaping the honey with agave syrup especially for me🤗
Nerding it out over here.. I’m so excited to have finally hit that sweet spot of the right ingredients for my hot compost. This is the hottest it’s been and it’s still rising!😎💪🏼
Between the 2 types of compost I’ve got going, I’ve managed to eliminate at least 90% of all of our organic waste going into the landfill. We eat a lot of fruits and veggies so that’s a few pounds a week that we’re personally keeping out of the landfill.
So. Fricken. Proud😁
Will be building a couple more hot compost piles soon to include all the yard waste. The nearby coffee roaster is letting me have as much coffee chaff as I want so I’m getting the carbon material for free until i can collect dry leaves from our property in the fall 👍🏼
Organic matter can compost and enrich our soil instead of have it rot and take up space in the landfill. It is said that 30-40% of food is wasted in this country (150,000 tonnes a DAY!). That’s a heck of a lot of food/trash! Let’s do something about it!!!💪🏼🙏🏼
Couple weeks ago we had The Bon Voyage Party. A party to reunite everyone from Team Anaheim before our Miss California Competition. We are blessed to have such great support from everyone! Thank you so much! Go Team Anaheim 👑👸🏻😍
