Dinner! Picked up green onion sausage for dinner. Cooked it with garlic (that’s how much I put). Cooked that in the scalded sauce last cooked on this pan. And garlic. And oil. That’s it. Added cauliflower and mushrooms. And mini sweet peppers. And fresh Serrano from the garden. And a cheesy keto biscuit. 😊
Looking to simplify things this thanksgiving? Try making Pumpkin Pie Cookies instead of baking a pie this year. Easy and soooo good! ⠀

Throwback Thursday: Sin remordimientos 🙌🏻
Are your breakfast meals for you and your family on carb overload?⠀
More often than not, breakfast meals get the shaft on balance and are often times heavy on the carbs with maybe a decent amount of protein and most likely little veggies. Here are a few tips on creating more balance with your breakfast meals. ⠀
1. Choose a whole grain carb. Look for the whole grain symbol, otherwise oats are a great option. This will help keep you fuller longer. ⠀
2. Pick a protein. There may not seem like a whole lot of options for breakfast proteins, but I suggest eggs, nut butters or lean sausage. ⠀
3. See where you can incorporate veggies. I recommend in your eggs, or as a side such as the leftover sweet potatoes I used here. ⠀
4. Add a bit of sweetness with a fruit (not pictured here). Try to go for whole fruit vs juice. This way you get the fiber and natural sugars, not potential added sugars. ⠀
5. Last, but not least, make sure you always have something you really enjoy on your plate. You should enjoy all of it, but pick something you’re really excited about. This may be bacon or a piece of toast with butter or cheesey scrambled eggs. Everyone has different fav foods. ⠀
6. Still having trouble? Throw something from each food group in the blender and wah-la, a balanced breakfast. ⠀
If you find yourself skipping breakfast, girl, shoot me a message and I can help you out. Yes, we all know it’s the most important meal of the day, but how can we actually make sure we’re eating it in the busy lives we live!? This breakfast here is what our family may eat on a weekend, but I’m a working mom and I don’t have time for that Monday through Friday. I have found something that instead is convenient, delicious AND nutritious, and no it’s not a magic potion or pill - there’s no such thing. Comment below ⬇️ and I’ll give you more details.
Why am I showing you a picture of my garbage? To remind you to not let a moment of weakness ruin everything. It's been a rough day at our house. The kids have been extra demanding and one of them has been super mischievous lately. Anyway, I just wanted to treat myself to a guilty pleasure. But I was less than halfway done with it and I wasn't enjoying it as much as I wanted to. But I was going to just finish it anyway until one of my dad's many catch phrases came to mind. "It's better for the food to go to waste than to your waist." Now this is not me promoting undereating! Fuel your body. Give it good things. And enjoy the not-so-healthy things. But don't force yourself to eat something that isn't even good for you for the sake of not wasting it. If I had finished that bowl of ramen, no starving child would be better off, and neither would I.
Scallops, Pork Dumplings & Fresh Salmon Sashimi 🥢🍵 not your usual offerings at a Chinese restaurant but Me Wah Launceston is a standout for offering different choices, definitely worth trying the degustation course. Food pictured are off the a-la-carte menu.😋😋

It’s Friday morning, the sun is shining and it’s already hot, so I’m feeling the weekend vibes particularly early today! I’m thinking a cheeky spritz and some good food enjoyed in the company of family is on the cards this weekend ❤️🍹 There is nothing I love more than sharing delicious food with the ones I love, and I’m a big believer in balance - I eat nutritious meals as much as I can, but when the opportunity arises for dinner with my husband or a shared meal with family, I am simply present in the moment and enjoy the food and the experience without worrying about a second thought. It’s a very relaxed approach, because food should be fun and delicious, not stressful! Is this something you struggle with?
Winter means roasted veg 🥰
On this occasion served with 🦆 The fat from animal products is saturated fat the one associated with heart disease & Stroke 👎🏻therefore should be limited as part of a healthy balanced diet ✌🏻
However if you enjoy animal products it does not mean your diet can’t be just as healthy & nutritious as someone who’s vegetarian or vegan 🌱 vegan & vegetarian diets are plant based which -
✅ help to provide lots of fibre , vitamins and minerals 💩 🌈 ✅ Are relatively cheap -especially important with Christmas approaching 🙌🏻 🎄 ✅ Are sustainable - their production is much better for the planet 🌍 ✅ They’re delicious - lots of my veggie dishes are versatile (lunch, dinner, leftovers 🤔 box it up and they still taste amazing
Yes I am a big fan of a plant based eating approach 💕👣 However I also enjoy meat and in moderation that’s ok 👌🏻
The world cancer research fund recommends limiting red meat to no more than twice a week ! Grill or slow cook where possible 👩🏻🍳 P.S duck is very fatty 🙊 but if it’s not on my menu everyday , enjoy 💁🏻♀️
Question.....Do you eat on the run, eat big mouthfuls, eat holding your food and don’t chew properly? This could be the reason you are suffering with bloating, burping, indigestion, flatulence, constipation, weight gain and much more. 🌱Digestion starts in the mouth, as chewing triggers the release of saliva which in turn triggers the body to get ready for food. 🌱Food should be chewed 20-30 times until it’s almost a liquid. Count your chews next time you eat. It’s probably closer to 5! 🌱When the food enters the stomach it’s broken down further. If food is too big it stays in the stomach longer. This can cause heartburn, indigestion or burping. 🌱Once the food is broken down, it passes through the intestines for further digestion. When the digestion becomes sluggish it can lead to constipation and poor uptake of nutrients. 🌱Next time you eat, sit down, eat slowly, use a knife & fork and enjoy your food 🌱Eat Mindfully 🌱Eat Naturally 🌱Eat Nutritiously #nutrition#nutritionist#healthyfood#eatnaturally#chewing#digestion#weightloss#poordigestion#healyourbody#healyourgut#enjoyfood#digestion#digestivehealth photo: unsplash @g-r-mottez
