Sanal gerçeklik, bilgisayarlarla gerçeğe yakın benzetilmiş bir dünya sunmak ve bu dünyada bulunuyormuş hissi yaşatmak için geliştirilmiş 20. Yüzyıl teknolojisidir. Sanal gerçekliğin literatürde çeşitli tanımları bulunmaktadır. Bir tanıma göre, katılımcılarına gerçekmiş hissi veren, bilgisayarlar tarafından yaratılan dinamik bir ortamla karşılıklı iletişim olanağı tanıyan üç boyutlu bir benzetim modelidir (Bayraktar ve Kaleli, 2013). Oppenheim(2013)’a göre ise sanal gerçeklik; insan-makine etkileşimini, görsel ve işitsel iletişimle yetinmeyip, hissetme yoluyla artırmaya çalışan bir teknolojidir.
Günümüzde sanal gerçeklik birçok alanda kullanılmaktadır. Bu alanlardan biri de eğitimdir. Eğitim alanında geliştirilen uygulamalar her geçen gün artmaktadır. Sanal gerçeklik sayesinde öğrenciler bu ortamlarda çeşitli objelerle etkileşimde bulunarak objeleri daha iyi tanıma ve inceleme fırsatına sahiptirler. Sanal gerçeklik duyu organlarını aktifleştiren öyküsel bir özellik taşımaktadır.
Virtual reality is a 20th century technology that has been developed to offer a realistic analogy with computers and make it feel like it is in this world. The virtual reality has various definitions in the literature. According to a definition, it is a three-dimensional model of simulation that gives a sense of reality to its participants and allows communication with a dynamic environment created by computers (Bayraktar and Kaleli, 2013). According to Oppenheim (2013), virtual reality is; is a technology that seeks to increase human-machine interaction through visual and auditory communication, rather than just listening. Today, virtual reality is used in many areas. One of these areas is education. Applications developed in the field of education are increasing day by day.

This past Thursday, ASHRAE held its September meeting about Indoor Air Quality! We had the priviledge of hearing from Distinguished Lecturer, Dr. Stephanie Taylor, about the intersection of human health and the built environment. She spoke about how the relative humidity in a building can have a high impact on the wellness of the building occupants. Thank you, Dr. Taylor, for visiting our chapter and for your informative and inspiring talk!

Another terrific @apt_westernchapter event, this time at the stunning James Browning Courthouse, aka the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Completed just in time to be hit by the 1906 fire and earthquake, the Beaux-Arts building is famous for high profile politics but also for being the first Federal building to undergo a friction pendulum base isolation seismic retrofit, which at the time was quite an innovation for seismic technology. And for the miles of handlaid Italian tile mosaic, marble from all over the world, and much more. A bullethole from a shot fired during the Hindu-German Conspiracy Trial is an enduring memento in one of the Courtrooms. From the outside it’s yet another Beaux-Arts civic building but from the inside it’s like none other in the US.
I love Robot wars since I was a little kid and watching extreme Robot was the closest I've managed to get so far and it was awesome.

Yesterday I started my new adventure to a new city, new departure, new destination and new challenges.
Sitting in the train station, I read this sentence written against one of its walls; " Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing." To ratify this sentence we see the march of Imam Hussein, who determined to fight until the death, he fought with courage and heroism, which has defied our admiration and pride throughout the centuries to this day.

While waiting for my train, I also met Pierre, a guy who missed all his studies until he was 18 years old.
His dad said to him that he will not get anything in life. That having diplomas was going to be impossible for him.
Well, Pierre has just completed his PhD in Applied Mathematics.
He announced to me with his voice trembling with emotion, that he is officially doctor.
It's in stories like Pierre's that I get my energy.
Let's shake hands, let's open our ears, we all have fights to fight.
We must encourage each other, help each other and raise each other up.
Together we will go so far!
