I was gifted this powerful hand made journal from my friend Ryan. He is so talented!
I know this is very meditative work for him and it resonates deeply with me. Grateful for this gift 🙏🏽. It’s so beautiful I don’t even want to write in it☺️ @ryan.t.nichols
💫How to form a new habit 💫
1️⃣ Focus on One New Habit that way it increases the chances of success
2️⃣ Commit For a minimum of 30 DAYS you’ll find that some habits are easy to build while others require more effort .
3️⃣ Anchor your new habit to an established habit (ex: after i get to my car from work, i will change into my workout clothes and walk for 10 minutes)
4️⃣ B A B Y S T E P S. Create tiny commitments everyday where it’s impossible to fail.
5️⃣ Make a plan for Obstacles: use “if-then” planning to take preventative action
6️⃣ Create Accountability for your habit: if you track your efforts you’re more likely to follow through with this new commitment especially when you’re being observed by others.
7️⃣ REWARD important milestones: focus on building a reward system. The reward you pick is up to you but it’s important to celebrate your improvements
8️⃣ Build a new identity along the way, it’s better to decide that the habit is simply part pf your identity and then use each small win as a way to demonstrate that its who you are on the inside
HEADS UP MASSACHUSETTS VOTERS. As evidenced by the insanity of the Trump administration’s desire to erase a whole swath of people via dangerous and discriminatory language, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT WE VOTE TO PROTECT OUR TRANSGENDER COMMUNITY MEMBERS.
Think this doesn’t effect you because you’re not trans? Because you don’t think you know anyone who’s trans?
It so, so does.
Dehumanizing people and minimizing their experiences is one of the first steps toward making physical violence palatable.
Think slavery. Think the Holocaust. Think police violence against black men. These atrocities have been made “political” as opposed to strictly heinous; people have “opinions” now about murder because: dehumanization.
Now is not the time for gentle language that makes us feel falsely better about an awful and dangerous reality.
Vote yes on 3.
Yea that seems about right.💯💯 from @whodafuckwannago2prison ... On a @Ryanair flight to London , a racist man refused to sit with a disabled black woman, and repeatedly insulted her. Instead of throwing the Racist off the plain ,they actually moved the lady away from him, and let him continue his flight.
So after my Sunday workout, I stopped at western beef on bay street,to buy my weekly grocery supplies for my daycare. Most importantly to buy some salmon for my weekly meal prep. Anyone who is into the gym life and training knows the importance of meal preping.
As I approached the fish shop to place my order the guy in the pic came to the counter, i told him i need some salmon,he the picked up brown paper and asked me how many pieces I wanted, I said not I don't want those ones. I went on to explain to him that I wanted a whole one cut up. He showed me a big one and said I would have to buy all of it if he cut it. So I said "yes isn't that what i just said I wanted?" He then left the counter, so I asked him "what's the problem don't you want to sell me?"
He said to me "No because YOU CAN NOT AFFORD THAT."
I am still in shock! This man doesn't know me, I am not a regular customer at his fish shop. So who can explain to me y this man thinks that i can't afford a $60 fish?
Apparently he saw my badge (my skin color) that automatically states that i am on welfare with food stamps.
My monthly food budget is well over $2000,I shop for my entire daycare meals and I normally do so at Costco. #statenisland#endracism#racialprofiling
An ungly scene of racism on a Ryanair,UK flight where a man refused to sit next to an elderly black woman!!
He called her an "ugly black B#@$!%@" & threatened to push her to another seat if she didn't move to another seat. .
Hes actions were not well received by another gentleman who was clearly disgusted with all the racist comments being hurled at the women!! Ryanair - DOES NOTHING!!!

NEW EPISODE: Share and listen as I talk with Shawn D. Rochester, about his informative book entitled, “The Black Tax: The Cost of Being Black in America”. Episode in bio.
I am so fucking tired of white people calling the police on innocent black people over nothing. Those kids were protesting about violence. Racist white people view black people as dangerous which is really sad. It's sad how when black people protest about ending violence or doing BLM marches people call them riots but when there's white supremacist rallies people act like it's no big deal. People need to learn to leave others alone and mind their own business. Those kids did nothing wrong. They want violence to end and that's why they're protesting. It was a peaceful protest
We can not stand silently by and allow people’s identities - their very lives and existence - to be commodified in this disgraceful game of political chess. WE CAN NOT.
Take this personally. THIS IS PERSONAL. Because our HUMANITY is personal and this attacks it directly.
There are many kinds of privilege. If you identify as the gender you were assigned at birth, you possess cis privilege. If you possess cis privilege, your life is easier and more protected than the lives of non-cis individuals. We must use the privilege of that protection to fight.
Our humanity is systematically and quite literally being tested.

I want to share my 2 cents on this statement that so many people are supporting. Look.. yes in my personal feelings im definitely absolutely passionately 1000% no fan in the ideals descrimination, any form of violance and forced sexual abuse but this is going to make zero progress. Make them afraid?? Thats what u want?? Thats what youre fighting for revenge? To strike fear in others? Discrimination against descrimination will not work. It wont and it never has. This is the reason humanity is so fucked up because everyone is trying to take the easy way out. Eliminate the ones that dont see eye to eye is a hopeless logic. Are u fighting to end descrimination and abuse or are u fighting to abuse and descriminate. Feel free to comment. Enlighten me or discuss :) #makeracistsafraidagain#makeracistsandrapistsafraidagain#endracism#endviolence#endsexualabuse#fuckthepolice
“Racism is taught in our society, it is not automatic. It is learned behavior toward persons with dissimilar physical characteristics.” Prime example to prove the truth in this statement. They don’t see color when it comes to skin all they see is love AND friendship. My daughter has NEVER asked me “why is he a different color or why is he brown” because that DOES NOT MATTER TO HER she doesn’t see him as different. YES SHE is 3 and knows that love is love NO MATTER WHAT! I DID NOT have to teach her not to be mean or rude to people of different colors or to ask about them, that’s not something we’ve ever had to think or talk about. NO ONE IS BORN RACIST. Putting an END to racism starts with the love of two 3 years old and i pray their friendship makes a difference in this world. ♥️ 👦🏾👧🏼
It was an honor to speak at @bioneers this morning on Coast Miwok land. I’m grateful to Bioneers for the platform today, and hope I shared my story authentically. I recognize how many other young people—Indigenous, Black, Brown, who are living with the daily struggle of a broken system—still lack a conduit to share their truth and call us to action in true solidarity. I remind us (and remind myself) to continue to leverage our skill and resources to build a movement that is stronger for its diversity, for its pursuit of justice and solidarity.
This morning, I spoke about the opportunity—in the midst of the climate crisis—to imagine and create a new vision for our nation, a new “American Dream.” Like the one my parents believed in, but a new form that truly confronts our legacy of racism and exploitation and imagines a future where all of us can thrive.
I called Bioneers to action: (1) To remind ourselves to process our trauma and grief in this painful time; (2) to #VOTE on November 6 😉; and (3) to organize in our communities—to shift resources to communities of color on the frontlines of the crisis, and not just bring marginalized folks to the table, but build it with them.
It was a message of active hope: hope that in a time of despair, we can still find the energy and commitment to build the relationships and do the work we are called to do to reach for something better.
PS Shoutout to @lemle and @thrivechoir for an incomparable, stellar performance to close out the weekend! Y’all are incredible, thank you for gifting us with your music.

Why don't I ever get flights like this. @ryanair should've removed the man without question. That's a lawsuit for allowing that bigot to talk to her the way he did. Hope she has a good lawyer.
RACIST MAN REFUSES TO SIT NEXT TO ELDERLY BLACK WOMAN on @ryanair flight. [Full video]
I went to see this movie today with my husband and our 10-year-old daughter. Here are some thoughts I’m having, a few hours post-film.
Something I’m interested in as a white woman who’s working to become a better ancestor is how I can be anti-racist in my everyday life in real, tangible ways. Action items on Instagram are important, yes. And yet if I’m ONLY making phones calls to far away places expressing my concerns about ludicrous police hirings and egregious acts of obvious injustice, I’m failing to do important work that’s right in front of me.
Talking to my kids about misogyny and racism and injustice is one of the ways I make this work tangible.
I talk to my kids about racism and injustice every day. I remind them that it’s up to us to spend our privilege *because we can* — because our skin keeps us safe. Because that’s not true for everyone.
The point of this post isn’t for me to talk about being a good white person. The point is simply to say that kids can handle this conversation and that instead of me letting myself off the hook by making a few phone calls every couple of weeks, it’s important for me to do the harder and potentially more vital work of engaging with these conversations with those I love the most, with those I most want to protect from the disgusting truths of the world: my babies.
I have the privilege of having this kind of conversation instead of the conversation black parents need to have with their children about how to not get shot by police.
Read this book by @angiethomas and see @thehateugivemovie and have these conversations because lives are literally depending on it.
This is Josh Morgan from Witness: Tornillo, holding down a corner near the #Tornillo internment camp. The latest figure is 1,700, but who really knows. One thing is clear, friends who were here when it first opened have said its grown. #FreeTheChildren#Tucson
I’ve been saying this all along. Make a friend... someone richer, poorer, different culture, different religion or belief, different background, different click, different life story etc. this could end all the hate that’s been going on in The world let alone in America which has become the melting pot. It’s hilarious this quote is coming from a fast food restaurant but they’re right. MAKE A FRIEND!! #knowledge#love#understanding#endsegregation#endracism#endhate#makeafriend#openyourmind#pandaexpress @officialpandaexpress
It’s fucked up that it hasn’t even been 100 years since women could vote. It’s been 155 years since the slaves were freed and yet racism is still very big issue. And lgbt+ rights were only put into light in the last few years. I wonder if there are any other problems we don’t know of at all yet that in the future will be another movement
Holy shit!!! WTF?!?! So I’m educated, private school and college and I do not ever recall hearing about this nonsense still existing! Millennials, Gen -X , EVERYONE FUCKING VOTE AN END TO THIS! Make every state END SLAVERY!!!
Hell we also need to add giving Natives their land and taking them off reservations. This is just some shit.
