Flashback to 2014, when this photo was taken. I remember taking this photo to help inspire other mothers to stay healthy and fit.
My fitness journey started when I was 22, joining my first gym membership. My mum doubted that I would stick to fitness, so she encouraged me to just get the casual passes, instead of a membership. I told her no, I wanted to force myself to stay committed. So I did, I joined, and forced myself to go even when I didn’t feel like it because I didn’t want to waste the membership.
For many years I didn’t enjoy exercising, but I did it because I know it was good for me. However after a while, you start to get used to it, and it becomes part of your life. If you stop going, you feel weird and want to get back to it.
I think the benefit for me about fitness is not just how I look on the outside but it’s how I feel on the inside. I have a lot of energy, I rarely get sick and makes me feel younger.
How did you start your fitness journey? Would love to hear your stories below.

Been quieter around here because of a lot of transitions outside of Instagram. Not bad change, but transitions can be uncomfortable but you come out the other side stronger than ever.
You discover the true YOU.
Via @kpphotoinc - Let's talk about transition.
Have you ever heard about it?
It's a phase of labor that happens after early and active labor. It is the shortest but most intense part.
This is normally the time where the fight or flight instinct comes in.
It's common to hear mom say, "I can't."
She seems defeated and scared.
She doesn't know though that just around the corner baby is coming.
Did you experience any of these symptoms right before you gave birth?
Hot and sweaty
Cold and shaky
Can’t find a comfortable position
Contractions increase when changing positions
Afraid to change positions
Looking for a way out
Discouragement and/or giving up
Irrational thoughts and behavior
Asking for pain medication
This part is short but it is very real. Regardless if you have an epidural or are doing it natural, your anatomy has a way of responding to the natural sequence of birth. Don't be afraid of these things. You can do it.

We are proud to announce that Valerie Tyler will be speaking at this year’s I Am That Woman Retreat! Valerie’s corporate career spans over 40 years in Sales with leading technology firms such as IBM, Oracle, and CDW Corporation. Her last position before retirement was Director, Supplier Diversity, at CDW Corporation with goals to drive more spending toward minority and female-owned businesses.
Valerie has always been active and athletic, but the real lifestyle change came for her at the age of 50 when she decided to run her first marathon. After completing that marathon, something changed for her regarding how she viewed fitness and health. Valerie watched people in her life face severe health challenges and even death due to unhealthy diets and lack of exercise. She wanted to make an impact and affect change in the lives of the people she knew personally and professionally by helping them achieve the health-focused lifestyle they desired but did not know how to do it or how to integrate it into their lives. Valerie educates, motivates, empowers and inspires the people that she comes into contact with through her passion for wellness. Valerie has helped many become active, lose weight, train, and complete marathons, recover from injuries, push their bodies to lengths they did not know they could achieve, and put simply, get fit.

"The most important thing I learned in high school was to advocate for myself. I realized that if I don't advocate for myself, nobody else will.
Overall, God, my parents, my best friends, and the people I met in The Bloc helped me a lot. I realized The Bloc was right for me during my junior year. I was going through a lot. I had so much hatred in my and I was getting into a lot of trouble. The Bloc helped me release all my anger in a positive way and taught me so much.
Next year, I plan to go to the University of Illinois at Chicago, joining the boxing club, and studying criminal justice." -- Ana, University of Illinois at Chicago, Class of 2022.

3 extremely important tips for weight loss and its not rocket science..
✅ What to do you do for exercise?
✅ What do you eat ?
✅ What do you think about..
The last one becomes the important one as this is all about habit.
If you have constant negative thoughts around yourself, your weight, your confidence your emotions, your lack of time, and how you feel about yourself then no 1 and 2 will be affected
Lack of motivation
Doing the wrong exercise
Doing no exercise
And emotional eating will cause more weight gain, more pain, more lack of motivation and more negative feeling about yourself..
How do you stop that ...? How do you stop ending up in the pit ?
By putting your hand up for help and start talking to the right people, by identifying your pain and what needs to change and stop making excuses.

Thank YOU, @divinefemininecoach 😍 You've humbled me beyond words. THIS is why I do my work in the world. If I can put my head on the pillow at night knowing that I impacted the life of just one person in a positive and meaningful way, then I've done my job and I've done it well.
Sending you and that sweet baby boy of yours all the love in the world. xo
For well over a decade, I struggled a lot with my mental health. My therapist and PCP tried everything that they could to help me. I tried, but mostly didn’t have the energy and was quite apathetic so, my trying didn’t or couldn’t yield much of a result. Nearly three years ago, I was at an end point. There was no way I could go on living the way that I had been and I was ready to stop trying. I decided to try one last thing, and I went to receive reiki. The reiki practitioner told me, “There is a community out there for you and you need to find it.” So, I began searching and that landed me in the office of a woman that was offering free consultations for the energy work that she did as well as group meditations. That day I received a Life Activation and found my community. Over the course of the next two years, with many different healing sessions as well as two initiations in the Lineage of King Salomon, I transformed. This support along with my own hard work (I worked my butt off and actually had the strength and drive to do so!) brought me to a place that I couldn’t even have dreamed of reaching. My therapist and PCP were in shock, neither had believed that such a radical turnaround was possible for me. It didn’t end there, though! From a place of greater health and stability I was pushed to continue setting new goals and connect with even greater joy! I continue down this path because the fruits are good and I offer the tools to you because I believe so strongly in their power to serve you as well.
Training for @campgladiator CG Games is no joke. It’s my first time doing it this year and I want to do my best. Just finished the entire endurance event in 14:26. It’s not one of the fastest times, but it’s an improvement from last Sunday and last night. I started with 15:39. I just want to say to all of you who think you cannot do it that it is not about how you measure against other people (maybe for a few at the top, yes) but for me and for everyone else it should be about being better than you were before. I have no idea what my final time will be on 7/14 or 7/21 when I actually compete in games, but I’ll be proud of myself knowing I tried my very best. 💪🏼🙌🏼👊🏻 #campgladiator#cggames#trainingforgames#wheresamommy

Sometimes I humbly ask for a sign. A sign that I’m on the right path, making the ‘right’ choice, am in alignment with my dharma etc... and then there’s times when the signs, aka communication, are SO obvious, I know without an inkling of a doubt, it IS divine intervention and I have my answer LOUD &
