It’s around that time when the sweet tooth cravings start to hit. Jorge’s favorite is a slice of apple pie. For me it’s hard to find a dessert I don’t like. But I’ve been into lemon flavor everything lately. What’s your favorite?
Dallas-based @emporiumpies came out with their own ice cream lineup based on a few of their pie flavors. The price is fairly steep at $12/pint but are they worth it?
Yes and no. In their current iterations, I would only buy "Vanilla & Drunken Nut" again. It is a great combo of a rich vanilla ice cream with chunks of pecan pie mixed in (essentially a really really good butter pecan). The other flavors fell a little flat for me - the chocolate overpowering any cherry flavor and the cinnamon/apple pie being too "dry" and needing way more apple pie filing instead of crust pieces.
I'm still excited to see how Emporium Pies utilizes their other seasonal pies in ice cream and glad DFW has another local ice cream option!
It’s the last weekend of #ChristmasinJuly @emporiumpies 😍 had my classic fave “Smooth Criminal” and the special “Melted Snowman” available until 7/31! ⛄️ better get some before they’re gone!

Have y’all tried emporium pies yet? My husband surprised me with a slice and I think it’s safe to say it’s best pie I’ve ever had! This slice specifically asked for a photo shoot so how could I say no?
