🎗WORLD OSTEOPOROSIS DAY
💠What is osteoporosis?💠
Worldwide, one in three women and one in five men aged 50 years and over will suffer an osteoporotic fracture. Osteoporosis causes bones to become weak and fragile, so that they break easily – even as a result of a minor fall, a bump, a sneeze, or a sudden movement. Fractures caused by osteoporosis can be life-threatening and a major cause of pain and long-term disability.
The 5 steps to healthy bones and a fracture-free future
1. Exercise regularly
Weight-bearing, muscle-strengthening and balance-training exercises are best
2. Ensure a diet rich in bone-healthy nutrients
Calcium, vitamin D and protein are the most important for bone health. Safe exposure to sunshine will help you get enough vitamin D.
3. Avoid negative lifestyle habits
Maintain a healthy body weight, avoid smoking and excessive drinking.
4. Find out whether you have risk factors
and bring these to your doctor’s attention, especially if you’ve had a previous fracture or have specific diseases and medications that affect bone health.
5. Get tested and treated if needed
If you’re at high risk you will likely need medication to ensure optimal protection against fracture.
In Native tradition, it is customary to give a small gift to elder teachers and wrap it in red. Pete Medicine Eagle, an elder medicine man of Cherokee ancestry, raised with Lakota and Paiute traditions, came from Sedona to Omaha to visit my herbal teacher. He was my teacher’s first teacher. Pete is teaching classes this weekend on Native culture and healing, the Medicine Wheel, shamanism, animal totems, star wisdom, emotional healing, and more. I made him a custom Seven Chakra herbal tea with local Western herbs used in Native American healing and inspired by his spirit. #medicineman#elder#nativetradition#healing#herbalism#chakrabalancing#herbaltea
You can see... not the most actual picture (the meadow is definitely not that green anymore🙊) but I really liked the elder flavored yogurt pint! Natural and not to sweet. Even there is my favorite @deliciouslyella protein ball: almond & blueberry 💜
I can remember this day pretty well. I had eaten this snack after a big challenge. I was at a streetfood festival with one of my best friends and I tried out not only one type of food, no, I tried out sweetpotato currls, spicy fried brazilian potato balls and the best soft serve I ever had! Why do I tell you this?
Because I want to show that you can break out of the daily routine without falling into a chasm! You can eat dessert without loosing the control over your sweet tongue. You are able to create every day different to the last one (not just related to food)!
Isn't it great to look at a snack plate like mine and remember that you had shown strength at this day?
So go and create those memories at your own! 🌹
Sending you a huge aound of love!!! 💓
Day 1 of Into The Void was awesome! Met Nick DiSalvo from @elderband after a brilliant concert, saw Wo Fat, drank some beer and bought some patches. Looking forward to seeing Conan, Lucifer, Motherengine and Orange Goblin today!
You know him. You love him. Whether he is teaching at Interns, preaching on Sunday, watching Stargate in his office or running around like a madman getting the PA set up - Everyone knows and loves @ian.mann1 🎉 And we know what you’re thinking, if it’s Ian’s birthday, why do you have a picture of @rubberjoelzilla ?! But believe it or not this is actually him! Have a fantastic Birthday Mr Mann! You might not be in #ThePulse but you’re never out of place when you join us!

#My#elder#brother @za_hid_sheikh ,
Even though we don’t talk much, even though we don’t hang out together, even though we don’t spend a lot of time with each other – I know from the bottom of my heart that my brother will always be there for me when I holler. Thanks bro.👨❤️👨😘 #worldsbestbrother#elderbrother#lovelypicture
From around the world, leaders of the world’s major religious traditions came together on Greenland, as part of the @peacepledgeproject to pray, celebrate, meditate and pledge to work together based on the principle that Loving-Kindness and Compassion can overcome discord and lead to human unity and peace.
Inuit Eskimo Elder Angaangaq Angarkkorsuaq @angaangaq said: “It is the human heart which needs to melt. This is a priority if we are to stop the melting of our mother ice.” They pledged to share a Peace Pledge [www.peacepledgeproject.org] with world leaders, the @unitednations, religious leaders, Parliamentarians, and billions of people inviting them to join the affirmation of the necessity and supreme importance of Loving-Kindness, Compassion, Forgiveness and Reconciliation. This simple truth they believe is transformative and universal.
