•LOVE A GOOD BARGAIN 🌟• I passed @waitroseandpartners yesterday on my way home from work last night and picked up a load of bread and rolls that had been marked down 🙌. Perfect for stocking the freezer ❄️. And these rolls were ideal for housing an egg 🥚. Cut a hole into a crusty roll, fill the base with some cooked spinach or mushrooms and crack over an egg, pop in the oven until the white is just cooked and voila! I popped some peppers and courgette on the side as dippers/soldiers. Perfect start to my Sunday morning 🌟.
Freezing bread is one of my most useful kitchen hacks. If you end up throwing bread away after a few days, I recommend freezing half a loaf the day you open it. I literally pop bread from frozen straight into the toaster and you’d have no idea it had been frozen. I freeze bread, rolls, pitta bread, crumpets, bagels...you name it! It’s great for minimising food waste and even better when you’ve run out of bread and can’t be bothered to go and buy some 🙌. Who else does this? And let’s be honest, who loves a bread bargain 🙋♀️?
