I have seen many small business owners upset because potential clients question the integrity behind their pricing or simply say, " I can get it for cheaper". There are many reasons why we may have to charge a little more. We don't have benefits or paid vacation. At age 25, I was finally able to drive a car (a Ford.) I live in an old ass apartment downtown. I have debt but I wouldn't change my career for anything.
Most stylists and other small businesses are not over charging to take your money. It's simply what we need to be profitable - period - and pay our bills. I have taken hits personally cause an appointment took longer than expected and I didn't quote high enough, but that's because I have pride in my work and won't let a client leave unless I would walk out of a salon looking that way. I've taken hits because I know how much it costs and feel bad because of the state of the hair some new clients sit in my chair with. I also choose not to double book because when I'm doing a colour correction I simply don't feel right taking on more than one client. There fore I make half of what people that do double book.
Not saying -no one does this - but MY clients are my everything and I have and would never unjust-fully over charge anyone. I love supporting small businesses because there is a passion when you see the business owner who put their life into the business versus an employee.
Step 2 on this crazy color correction and she's nearly perfect!
If you're hair is feeling dry or just not quite right, I HIGHLY recommend @unite_hair 7 seconds leave in conditioner. I've tried so many products and product lines and I always go back. It's hydrating, has heat and UV protection and detangles like nobody's business!
Swipe all the way for before! 👉🏼 These transformations are my favorite! One more process to perfection! As health of hair to me is the MOST important.
I picked out the darkest pieces with blonde me and 20 volume until it became the colour of the warm highlights. I then placed blonde me and 30 volume on her roots and the old warm foils for about 25-30 minutes. I rinsed and reapplied same formula with @brazilianbondbuilder on the mid strand for about 20 mins. ✨Bleach @schwarzkopfpro Blonde.me
✨Toned with @wellahair
Mostly 8-81, small amounts of 10-6, 050, 10-1 and 10NG
I will be leaving again on a trip (this time not work related) on September 30th-October 6th. I will be UNREACHABLE at this time. Please try to book appointments in advance as October is already filling up! ❤️💜 Also here's a few more pics from my shoot. How gorgeous are these babes!!
This is a new client and I am working on eliminating warmth from her hair. I feel like as hairstylists it’s nature to be afraid of leaving bleach on too long and causing damage. The most important thing I’ve learned is if you’re unsure check every few minutes, even get a second opinion from another stylist. Also find a bleach that feels right for you. It took me nearly 5 years to find the bleach that I have 100 percent trust in.
Rinsing bleach too early causes orange and yellow to stay around and become very difficult to remove.
As a client the best thing you can do is use olaplex as recommended to ensure your stylist has a strong base to work with! ❤️
Bleach outs are one of my favourites to do but also require the most maintenance. Did you know that as your hair grows past a certain point it keratinizes, which means it becomes harder to bleach! Therefore you need to come back to your stylist before this occurs to prevent a colour correction!
After a crazy week in San Antonio at the @behindthechair_com show, @watermelonyhair and I planned this amazing photoshoot. We had no expectations but it turned out so well. Thanks to everyone involved for everything you did! I can't wait to get together again! More to come...
Final day was such a success. @schwarzkopfusa killed their session and I got to meet two of my three favorite stylists! They are SO talented and so many people look up to them, yet they manage to remain so kind and so humble. ❤️
Day 2! This trip has been so inspiring for me. There are so many stylists that I've looked up to for a long time that I am getting a chance to learn from. There's also stylists that I had never seen prior to being here, that have been such phenomenal educators with amazing personal stories. I feel so grateful to my clients for their support and loyalty. Without you I am nothing! I can't wait to bring back my new knowledge and put it into everyone's hair!❤️❤️❤️
I am officially on vacation until September 1st! I am so excited to be going to San Antonio to see the @behindthechair_com and learn from so many amazingly talented people!
I will have limited access to my booking schedule. Please allow until the first week of September as the the latest for reply. ❤️❤️
Sometimes perfection doesn’t come in one appointment. This was a second round of bleaching to try and get out old colour and lots of brass. Hair can only be pushed so far while maintaining integrity. Trust the process.
