This zucchini just keeps on giving! The stem is now about 1m long, and it’s still going strong. I forgot how big zucchini plants grew, this one is taking up a LOT of realestate and I’ve had to cut back about 60% of the leaves that shade out other plants.. but I’m letting it stay for now!

Pansies bringing a great touch of colour to the garden this winter! These are happily living in my hanging basket and so undemanding. A great addition to any space for a splash of much needed colour at this time of the year, don’t you agree? 😊🌼💚
🌸Ik had nog even de hoop een bloeiende stokroos te hebben met kerst. Maar ik vrees dat ze de vriesnacht niet overleefd heeft... ~~~ I was hoping for a flowering hollyhock at Christmas. But I fear that she didn’t survive the night frost...🌸
Last year we had a couple of gardens in the front yard. We grew potatoes in one of the beds. Today we started pulling those two gardens out to clear a patch for my little boy's swing set to go. As I dug around with my spade I soon realised that there were both Agria and Purple Passion potatoes there. They don't look too bad so will cut them open tomorrow and see if they're okay to keep. It definitely made my job a lot more fun today and turned it into a little treasure hunt. #purplepassion#potatoes#agria#gardentotable#ediblegarden#nzgarden#nzgardener#kiwigarden#growyourown#sprayfree
After the rain 🌧🌧🌧 this is the third day we have had monsoon like weather. I am not complaining 😍 I have seen massive growth in my plants, it’s a much needed soak and also cleaning of the leaves #summergarden#tenniscourtveggiepatch
As tempting as it is to harvest everything when it’s ready to eat, let a few plants live on so they can produce seeds. Seed harvesting is part of being self sustainable.
This Verofley spinach is well past it’s window period for harvesting for food and is not really edible. All it’s energy is being used not for growth, but for seed production.
The feeling that never gets old! Harvesting an entire salad from your garden 🤤🤤🤤 literally as fresh as it gets! Stoked to see some summer veg coming through - these zukes were unpollinated as I have been pinching out the male flowers to encourage leaf growth after the seedlings got a little stunted with a late frost - but nothing goes to waste here, not even bolting radishes as the pods, leaves, and root will all end up in the salad 🥗 ps. check out my first GOOD goddam carrot!! so bloody proud 🥕Only a half day in the garden today, sowing more capsicum seeds, weeding & feeding before heading off to our landscaping Kristmas party woohoooo @forest_deity__ 💚
