Howard the Duck was directed in 1986 by Willard Huyck for Lucasfilm / Universal Pictures. In the movie, on September 8, 1986 27 year old Howard T. Duck of 3636 Lakeside Drive Marshington D.C. 10031 is suddenly beamed from Duckworld, a planet of intelligent ducks with arms and legs, to Earth, where he lands in Cleveland. There he saves rocker Beverly Switzler from thugs and forms a friendship with her. She introduces him to Phil Blumburtt, who works at a lab with scientist Dr. Walter Jenning. When the doctor attempts to return Howard to his world, Jenning accidentally transfers a Dark Overlord of the Universe who was apart of an ancient and powerful alien race of immortal, demonic tyrants once feared and even worshiped, unmatched and unopposed throughout the cosmos now confined in the Nexus of Sominus into his own body which Howard must defeat. Somewhere between the movies ending and the first Guardians of the Galaxy (Released August 1, 2014) Howard the Duck is apparently captured by the collector Taneleer Tivan. In the film, the Guardians flee to Knowhere, a remote criminal outpost to meet Taneleer Tivan and his tormented assistant Carina grabs an Infinity Stone, triggering an explosion that engulfs Tivan's archive releasing his collection which includes Howard the Duck. We later see Howard in Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 (Released April 19, 2017) outside the Iron Lotus which is a brothel located in Contraxia (A cold and icy planet inhabited by Sneeper Madame and Love Bots, visited by different clans of Ravagers) joking around. But what happened afterwards? In an interview with Iquisitr, 1980's icon and the original film's star Lea Thompson revealed that she is scheduled to meet with Marvel Studios who she intends to pitch a brand new Howard the Duck film with her potentially directing. @lea_thompson has her feature-length film directorial debut "The Year of Spectacular Men" releasing June 15, 2018 and the fact that the actress is meeting with them at all is certainly interesting. #Disney#Marvel#MCU#MarvelCinematicUniverse#MarvelComics#MarvelStudious#PhaseFour#HowardtheDuck#EdGale#ChipZien#HowardtheDuckReboot#SethGreen#LeaThompson#MeatierMedia
I've got a headache. And I've got the aspirin! 😂 So cheesy but so great! Released 32 years ago today Howard the Duck (1986) Dir by Willard Huyck 👽
Trivia: Lea Thompson actually did the singing for all of the songs of her character's band, as did the other actresses in the group. On the 2009 DVD, she states that even during filming, the studio had not made a final decision as to whether to keep her singing voice or dub her.
I have no idea how I got a copy of Howard the Duck on beta? I had it on vhs and I have it on DVD. I never had a beta player and have no memory of where I got this from. It’s not going anywhere though, well maybe to @real_ed_gale so he can sign it. @lea_thompson @realtimrobbins #howardtheduck#beta#classicmovies#80s#edgale#leathompson#timrobbins

I don't know why but howard the duck was the first thing that came to mind...OK maybe it's because I secretly love Howard the duck comics and want him to have a bigger part in the MCU. Carrying on my pick is the fast moving relationship of Howard (Ed Gale) and Beverly Switzler (Lea Thompson) that although never officially confirmed in the film it is heavily implied so I'm counting it 😊
Ed Gale (@real_ed_gale ) uses American Sign Language on his own and says, “Hi, My name is Ed.” Ed Gale is a retired actor. He is known for playing Chucky in Child’s Play, Child’s Play 2, and Bride of Chucky. His very first Acting Role was in Howard The Duck, where he played “Howard.” He is also in Spaceballs, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey, The Telling, L.A. Dicks, Santa Jr., Call me Claus, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, The Munsters’ Scary Little Christmas, Land of the Lost, Dolly Dearest, and many more!

It’s a classic tale of a duck being transported to another universe and experiencing human life in Cleveland. In this episode we’re revisiting Howard the Duck and trying to determine if nostalgia is really a good thing. Courtney returns to help us figure this one out. She previously joined us for Terminator which is also a movie about someone being transported from another time and place to Earth. We’d love to know what the Citizens think of Howard The Duck - so be sure to send in feedback we can share on a future episode.
A sarcastic humanoid duck is pulled from his homeworld to Earth where he must stop a hellish alien invasion with the help of a nerdy scientist and a cute struggling female rock singer who fancies him.
