I always try to do some sort of “cold start” drill when I get to the range, either this one from @baersolutions or a double bill drill or something. I think it’s a good way to measure your standard, everyday ability.
I typically draw, reload, and shoot much better after I’ve warmed up with 25-100 rounds. I think most people are that way. But, if I can’t perform and shoot accurately and quickly without warming up, I’m not a good, prepared shooter.
I can only think of two situations in which my shooting ability would actually matter. Competition and a real life defense situation. And I won’t be able to warm-up for the more important of the two...
This was my best clean cold-start yet on the @baersolutions Standard drill at 5 yards - 7.64seconds.

Я сегодня стену проходил насквозь (прямо как в фильме "Чародеи", по мотивам произведения А и Б Стругацких). Откопал где-то в кладовочке у себя маленький бур-свёрлышко почти полметра длиною и "аки нож в масло" за 20 секунд (!!!) наверное прошел в бетонной несущей стене эти полметра. И всё же, что за прелесть эта дурочка "Makita", просто чудо-машинка.
