And just like that, the 10” Pikachu POP sold out in just shy of 2 hours! The close to 34k units lasted a long time online after the official 6am PT release by Target, scheduled to coincide with the Pokémon game release. While this was an online only release, a little under 1K units were sent to various stores as sample units on October 5 as part of Target’s NYCC release. As of right now, it’s unclear if there will be a restock in the future.
A very special last day of work with very special colleagues. I'm so humbled to have been at the Court for the Case 002/02 Trial Judgment, and to see justice being done. There are no words to express how powerful and meaningful it was to witness a judgment that recognised that genocide was committed by the Khmer Rouge against both the Cham Muslim minority and the ethnic Vietnamese, as well as one that explicitly recognised the crimes against humanity perpetrated against both women and men through forced marriage and rape within that context. I hope this judgment brings some amount of closure to the people of Cambodia, all of whom were affected by this brutal regime.
Today’s #verdict before the #eccc condemning Nuon Chea and Khieu Samphan for their crimes during the #khmerrougeregime marks the end of a decade long investigation and prosecution. Back in 2011 this little team of young and talented Khmer and American lawyers spent countless hours reading and assessing 8000 victims testimonies in that case. Today I want to send a tribute to all those that contributed a piece of the puzzle of an unperfect and often controversial process but yet one that gave many victims a voice and through them allowed many to tell their stories and sometimes to heal. This case was 5 years of my life. Today is special. #fightagainstimpunity#neverforget
Today Khmer Rouge leaders Nuon Chea, 92, Khieu Samphan, 87, have been found guilty of Genocide by the UN backed tribunal ECCC. This image is from inside the court room on the edges of Phnom Penh, from “Under the shadows” a long term project looking at the multitude of legacies post colonialism / post conflict in Cambodia.
On Friday the 16th of November 2018 the Khmer Rouge tribunal found Noun Chea the regime’s second in command and the Democratic Kampuchea’s chairman of the state presidium Khieu Samphan guilty of Genocide and sentenced them to life in prison, 40 years after the Khmer Rouge regime killed some 1.7million people in Cambodia. #cambodia#KhmerRouge#ECCC - photos by @thomas_cristofoletti
Feeling the fall vibes (even though this was shot in the spring), so here is my #Valkyrie from #MadMax#FuryRoad from #ECCC a couple years back. This costume was so warm and comfy. And ALL OF THE POCKETS
