My father and a couple horses in the fall of 1982!
So much imagery in this worn photo. The mountains stretching to the heavens with snow covered tops.
Then the golden quaking aspens under the snow line. Examine closely and my father is behind the horse on the left.
Truly a fall photo of the West.
This picture was taken by my fathers close friend Mr.Bobby Cleveland. They were out on a fall elk hunt and the horses they hauled out to help in their endeavors. What a time, story, and what an incredible picture!
🐒 it’s what’s for dinner. Well for everyone asking Baboon was actually really good. I cooked it with just salt and pepper over a open fire. Would any of you try it ? #eatwhatyoukill#wildchaos#livewildnotweak#baboon @bayly_sippel_safaris @tanneradams10 @mark_jarman
Social media can be a great place to exchange ideas. It can also be a place where people often take their uninformed ideas, and attack others. It's sad to me that another human would not only attack another person for harvesting their own meat, but wish death upon a friends father. I'm sure this guy would change his mind if he ever came face to face with a black bear, or even more so a grizzly. I did what I could to discuss this with him, but it quickly turned into a dick measuring contest with him since he couldn't give a reasonable reason for his feeling that hunters deserve to die, while he admitted to eating meat. According to him we should just go to the grocery store and buy it like "civilized" people. I'm sure he hasn't visited many factory farms in his life, or he may very well want to harvest his own.
Trying out this new app #FITIV to record my boot camp training. It allows tracking of mixed cardio and HIIT and scales all results in an easier interface then the Apple health app. Week 4, Day 1. Best alternative for tracking hr with Apple watch or polar and syncs to #myfitnesspal
I'll be back in this spot again this evening in hopes to find my #d6 buck. Saturday's opening was great and even though we didn't bring home any meat, we found our spot and just hope we get another opportunity to let an arrow fly.
On a side note, I have to say how pleased I am with @locklaces
boot laces. Not only have I been very comfortable, but I haven't picked up a single sticker since I bought them in March. #deerseason#bowseason
Field-to-Refrigerator. Learning how to process the meat the «right» way. Lucky for me I got a really patient husband to teach me 😂😜
It was time for the old one to close its dreamy eyes, so that the others could continue their wander on the northern heights. Such is the rule of tundra.
We spotted this old bull some miles away, glassing with @zeisshunting 15x45
spotting scope. From that distance we could tell this crownhead was worth the run, so we grabbed our gear and made the run for it. @vonarenstorffhunting and I galloped down the mountain but were eventually stopped by a fast flowing glacier creek. In a heartbeat we'd both decided to cross and as our boots and pants were off we saw a pair of antlers behind a small sandbank on the other side of the creek. I ended up shooting my first big game animal in long johns! Next I just had to get over the stream to collect the animal and lay my eyes on the beautiful old critter...
