Avocado Caprese Salad
2 cups fresh arugula
2-3 campari or cocktail style tomatoes, sliced
½ avocado, pitted and sliced
3 slices fresh mozzarella cheese
fresh basil leaves
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil (I prefer the fruitiest, lightest flavored)
1½ teaspoons balsamic vinegar
dollop of honey
freshly ground black pepper
Assemble the arugula, tomato, avocado slices and mozzarella in a serving bowl.
Top with torn or slivered basil leaves.
Whisk the extra virgin olive oil in a small bowl with the balsamic vinegar, honey and season with kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste and pour over the salad.
Toss to coat and serve.

The fourteen-day dry-aged French duck is slow roasted on the crown to keep the meat pink and juicy, then served with a braised Tokyo turnip and bitter chocolate truffle sauce. BEST BREAKFAST IN KOBE .
The renowned hotel breakfast had been awarded by TripAdvisor for the last SIX years. People would travel down to the hotel just for their breakfast. Q would start from 6 in the morning. .
First we were welcomed by the tasty dessert and free flow of Kobe caught my heart. In house made Jam, breads and wide variety stunned our appetite. .
The only downside was the location wasn’t really close (about 15mins wall) to the station. But it’s facility and breakfast were worth while! .

Serving affordable Chinese Tze Char dishes, this hidden gem is located at Toa Payoh Golf Range, which can offer a unique dining experience - watching golf while eating.
My top favourites are the Switzer King Pork Ribs and the Yam Ring. Although the Crab Bee Hoon Soup was great too, it can’t be compared with the one I had at @mellbensignature_sg.

Over ordered and everyone was stuffing themselves, but this was quite a value for money steamboat place compared to the more popular ones, especially because everyone gets their own pot of soup! The soup for the month is a silky smooth porridge.
Fu Lin Yong Tau Foo
Hipster YTF in a bar, within CBD area & infront of many bottles of liquor. It was also dark, thus the bad lighting & not your usual YTF stall. They ran out of soup by 2.30 pm so I’d to eat it dry with their famous meat gravy. For dry version, all ingredients will be deep fried even my egg tofu. Flavourful, but unfortunately also quite tough, this tasted far from its counterparts in Thailand. Give this a miss, and go for the crackin’ otah otah stuffed youtiao.

Pulut inti (Malaysia)
Pulut inti is a Kueh wrapped in banana leaf in the shape of a pyramid, this kueh consists of glutinous rice with a covering of grated coconut candied with palm sugar.
Pulut means glutinous rice and inti means the insides.
With presentations so delicate, this 2-Star experience offered more than just a treat to the palate; but to the other senses as well.
Appealing to our tag of “eating with the eyes first”, we enjoyed how each dish was so thoughtfully plated.
The line-caught sea bass was beautifully topped with sliced mushrooms that resembled scales. Accentuating the main ingredients in look and taste.
The Langoustine wrapped in thin layers of zucchini was another delicate dish cooked on point to retain the freshness and sweetness of its meat.
Lastly, we wouldn’t change anything in the Greffeuille aveyron lamb cooked on a veil of truffle. Amazing truffle flavour wrapped around the lamb for the perfect marriage.
Food aside, we loved every little detail that they had looked into, from immaculate services to synchronised unveiling of every dish for us each time that made our experience so memorable.
Always a joy to indulge in a piping pot of steamboat especially on rainy days.
