🍽: KOF cone matcha latte💚
📜: Such a photogenic drink! Matcha latte is good coz it’s not sweet at all, but would be much better if it’s hotter than this (it’s just warm), the chocolate cone is nice & crispy, with oozing chocolaty end, scrumptious!
@oojnoraa: “Are you guilty of eating all the food?”
@food_w.rachlll: “....no? I don’t know...?”

Coal Office, from the Palomar and Barbary stable, takes the food it does so well to a new space at Kings Cross, on the western edge of Granary Square. And what a space! Designed by Tom Dixon, whose emporium is next door and below, it brings the wow factor to a bigger space with more covers which means you have a better chance of getting a table than at either of the other two restaurants.
The service was a bit over-attentive but that may be first-week nerves. At one point we had two servers trying to fill water glasses at the same time. And it was odd that they’d already sold out of the Portuguese white wine we ordered (not even the second one on the list) and I thought the Viognier we settled for was under powered for the food (they should take a leaf out of Smoking Goat’s Riesling playbook).
But the food is assured, on target, warm, generous and over-delivers on flavour and impact. A few offerings “from the chef” Assaf Granit meant our two small plates and two big plates took us all the way to Stuffed Town pretty quickly (unlike many other small plates places we could mention). The seafood stew with chickpeas on a Yemeni pancake has leapt in to my Top 10 fave dishes for the foreseeable future.
Beautiful lunch in between hot tub management at Northumberland Arms. A firm favourite with our guests. I had the roast beef dinner, veg was turnip, brocolli, carrots, roasted swedes and cabbage. I also ordered extra cauliflower cheese and it was amazing. My mum had seafood linguine with mussels, prawns and cod with a couple of slices of garlic bread. For dessert, we shared the most amazing cheesecake with a coconut crunch (delicious), honeycomb, raspberries and a gorgeous sorbet. Wow! New chef, new menu - highly recommend. They do a 5-6pm special offer Mon - Fri £30 for two main courses and a bottle of wine. The bar area is dog friendly. 🙌🏽😋 #sundaydinners#eatout#northumberland#acornleisureholidays#goodfoodguide#localpub#treatyourself
