Throwback Thursday: Yes this is me in different stages over a period of 9 months. From losing weight, to building muscle, to losing the muscle and filling out. My body had gone through so much and taught me so much about training and dieting. If I have to choose one thing that has been the most valuable lesson to me, I would have to say that I have learnt that no matter how much you train, if you’re not eating right you won’t get results. With that being said, balance is SO important! Being fit and eating healthy has become my way of life and I love to help others in reaching their goal! If I can give you any advice today, I would tell you that too much of a good thing isn’t good. Take a break between your training (your body needs that rest) and have a cheat meal once in a while (not every day)! 🤭 Enjoy the journey. Don’t punish yourself. Change your mindset and honor your body for the changes it’s going through and the healthy food you’re rewarding it with. Look after your HEART and bless yourself with the state of good health and nutrition. Forget about quick fixes, supplements and depriving your body. .

Something To Chew On Today I had a long discussion with my friend about how much significance we put into our food. 🥘 Instead of using for its intended purpose (to fuel our body) 🏃♀️we use it for happiness, to show love, when we are sad, ☹️and for many other reasons. I for one feel like I would be so much better off If I took the emotion out of it! What about you? For example, we were talking about the holidays that are coming up. 🌲 I was telling her about all the great food that I was going to make and how delicious it was all going to be. Not one time did I mention the family that was coming into town or the meaning of the holidays. Sad, right? She was telling me earlier how she was going to have a special meal at the end of the week but failed to mention the special time that she would be spending with her husband. We are so programed to think about food during celebrations, that we often forget what we are celebrating. If we remove the emotion from the food I believe that we could see situations not only clearer, but for what they are. Do you believe this? Type something in the comments. Every year I say I will be healthier and lose the weight. I’ve tried everything from drops in my drink (yuck!), fad diets such as Atkins and South Beach, pills both over the counter and prescription and any other thing I could. The problem is they didn’t work. I would gain the weight back. They didn’t work for me in the long term. So what is a girl to do? Should I just give up? Maybe I’m just destined to be a bigger girl. Was I happy? No! I was unhappy and unhealthy. I couldn’t walk a trail with family and friends without being out of breath and the last one that everyone had to wait for. This is not the way I want to live. So I come across an amazing lady who has shown me the opportunity of a lifetime. I’m eating better and I’m doing workouts at home. My body LOVES this! It craves healthy food and exercise now. Recently I had to forgo the healthy food for the junk and processed for about a month. Funds were tight and unfortunately processed food is cheaper. My body isn’t happy. I could tell the difference in how I felt inside and out. I’m now back to eating right and my body is thanking me.

You guys I cannot stress enough how important prepping for your week is to keep you on track! I’m talking about snack and meal prepping. I’ve been hella good and loving every minute and yesterday and today I haven’t made time for it. I had some to last through yesterday but today I was out of stuff to munch on quickly. I had my Shakeology thankfully and I did good on breakfast but I have not had enough veggies or water today. I’m here to tell you that I’m human you guys and this busy momma slips up from time to time too! And it’s ok! Because tomorrow is prep day for me 😍 it’s pretty incredible how much better I feel when I’m fueling my body right. Today’s poorer nutrition did not leave me feeling that great.
