about last night
ever wake up and feel like you just need a jam-packed smoothie to start your day? Phil’s friends are in town and we had one too many drinks at @rogueales last night... so I thought I’d pay them tribute with a little fruit in their cup 😂
we’re heading out to show them the city and eat our way through it. wish us luck (and bigger bellies!) .
dEATS: frozen blueberries, blackberries, strawberries + kale + 1 scoop @vitalproteins collagen + @califiafarms toasted oats and almond milk + ice. BLEND! 💕
IT’S GAMEDAY!! Bring on a healthy breakfast followed by alllllll da snacks. @flatoutbread wrap with smashed avocado, 1 egg and 1 egg white, chicken sausage, and plenty of hot sauce ‘cause I’m praying the dawgs are gonna be on 🔥 #gamedaybreakfast#godawgs#breakfastburrito
Made breakfast for my brother this morning💁🏻♀️👆🏻 Toast Two Ways using @breadlab.hn sourdough artisanal bread 🍞 (the only kind I buy). Savory Toast: avocado 🥑 + organic eggs 🍳 seasoned with sea salt and paprika. Sweet Toast: almond butter + organic blackberry jam 🍇 + banana 🍌 + cinnamon + chia seeds.
Throwback to a good breakfast scramble from a few days ago! Eggs, mushrooms, spinach, cherry tomatoes, and sauerkraut (sauerkraut is such a delicious, often overlooked, addition to meals that is also great for gut health). 🤙🏼🙃
Give yourself permission to live a big life. Step into the person you were meant to be. Stop playing small + dream bigger. You were meant for so much MORE. ✨
Happy Saturday, loves! 💓
This morning I got in a full body, kick butt workout + fueled my body with the best brunch!🍳🥓
• 2 eggs
• 2 pieces of turkey bacon
What are you doing to sweat today?!👇🏼#sheismorefitness
Saturday baking anyone? If you need a nut-free alternative to peanut butter cookies, these three ingredient tahini cookies are super easy and free of refined sugar! I’m sure you’ve seen the popular recipe all over Pinterest for grain-free peanut butter cookies that only require 3 simple ingredients. I decided to try an allergy-friendly, nut-free version with tahini, and they turned out great! (Note: a couple of my kids are not fans of tahini, and eating it in cookie form did not convince them otherwise. In other words, if you don’t like tahini, you probably won’t like these.)
I would imagine these cookies would work well with sunbutter too for another allergy friendly version, or other nut butters if you just want a peanut free version. I think I’ll try cashew butter next! Recipe for these is on the blog!
Despite the crazy situations life has put me in recently, I stand by my motto "No excuses." Every day it is my goal to work out hard, fuel my body with the right kinds of food, and inspire others to do so as well. NOTHING will get in my way. Yesterday was an especially rough day. This hiking trip was amazing... until I finished the trail. While waiting in the parking lot, a group of men chased me, threatening sexual assault. I managed to flag down a car, get inside, and get to safety. I'm safe, I'm happy now, and I'm ready to get back to my goals.💪 WORD OF ADVICE: please, PLEASE never hike alone. Always bring a friend. Stay safe.❤
happy first day of Fall 🍂🍂 call me a weirdo but before I came to the US for college i don't even know when is the first day of fall😂 — we don't have pumpkin spice or apples🍎 or celebrate halloween
but i do love fall in Hanoi my hometown so much though. the weather is slightly chilly, the leaves turn red🍁, the smell of Sua flower and plethora of chrysanthemum 🌼
certain specialties of Hanoi fall like green young rice (very delicious), moon cakes filled with endless varieties of fillings and just the vibe of the city🎋 much slower, relaxed. . . it's the most gorgeous time of the year
i rarely talked about my hometown here on this platform because i feel a certain pressure to be similar to americans and truth is i do enjoy that most of the time. but on some day i want to share more about who i am from, my origin which takes a big chunk in my heart❤️ and i'm missing Hanoi a lil extra today . . . ➡️➡️ check out HASHTAG #HANOI to see the beautiful city!
dEATS: white rice, garlic brocolli and crispy baked chicken thighs with later added gochujang sauce🌶
Switching up the normal oats for brekkie for a fall yogurt bowl today.🍂I have been absolutely LOVING @bearnakedgranola limited edition pumpkin spice granola! Packed with protein and nutrients with a great ingredients list😍
Today’s bowl was @oikosprotein vanilla greek yogurt + @bearnakedgranola pumpkin spice + strawberries + chia seeds
Messy breakfast plate but not mad about it 😎 Saturday sometimes calls for a fun, more complicated breakfast or sometimes you just stick with the basics 👌🏻 Our kitchen is still a little out of sorts so I kept it simple with this easy savory combo 😋 Easy already made @aldiusa qunioa that I had in the freezer came in clutch this morning 👌🏻 I was lazy and microwaved it for a quick addition to this breakfast plate 🙌🏻 The plan was to have an easy no fuss breakfast buttttt I made an egg on our new stove and somehow I totally screwed it up and it got like seared to the pan 😂 Like I couldn’t get if off to save my life 😅 So I had to scrap that disaster and go for a round ✌🏻 Luckily this egg didn’t let me down 😉 Fueling up for a nice run this morning- it’s finally feeling like fall and I’m so pumped!! Then cleaning and reorganizing is on the agenda for the day 👊🏻 Have a good one guys!! ————————————————————————————- #breakfast details 👉🏻 1 egg fried in @fourthandheart garlic ghee + tomatoes + sautéed spinach with red pepper flakes + mashed avo + @aldiusa Mediterranean qunioa
🥞Ever struggled with knowing when to stop eating? Most of us only know TWO extremes of eating: STARVING or STUFFED. Very rarely do we actually slow down to mindfully eat our food, be aware of our hunger levels, our body and its cues.
📊Have you seen the hunger scale before? If not, here it is! It’s a great way to think about your physical sensation and mood as it pertains to hunger. Being more aware of hunger can help you:
🔺manage portion sizes
🔺control emotional eating
🔺understand when to stop eating
🔺recognize your personal hunger cues
🧠In order to lose weight, being mindful and eating slowly is needed to tune in and recognize the signs of fullness.
🍴You should practice trying to eliminate hunger, NOT chase fullness. I made the mistake of chasing fullness for the first part of my dieting life and when I made the switch, I noticed a big change in my body. In other words, on the chart, the goal should be numbers 5-6. Ideally, you should feel as though you could workout an hour later without discomfort.
❌Zones 1-3: Try to stay out of these zones to avoid binging, overeating, or becoming ravenous or lightheaded.
✅Zones 4-7: The sweet spot of fullness. Zone 5-6 is where you want to be after a meal. Like you could eat more but feel good 🤗
❌Zones 8-10: Try to avoid this zone! This is what you may typically feel like after Thanksgiving 🍗
Be sure to bookmark this and tag a friend below who would benefit from this chart!✌🏼 (thank you @hooper.fit for inspiring this post!)

What would happen if we worked as hard at convincing ourselves that we could do it as we do at telling ourselves we can’t? .
The other day my daughter was convinced that she was horrible at Science.
I had no idea where this was coming from she had always been really good at science.
But here we are in the third week of school and all of a sudden she’s “terrible, the worst subject ever” in science? .
It took a while, but when I got to the root of it, she had made a bad grade on 1 paper...... y’all 💥 1 💥 paper!!! .
It made me think, how often do we quit when we have a few set backs? .
When something doesn’t go our way? .
How often do we convince ourselves we can’t because __________. But we really CAN. .
Don’t let an excuse stop you!
GO FOR IT!
I will trust in Him and not be afraid. Isaiah 12:2
Do you do the same old thing day in day out? When's the last time you tried something new?
Apparently there's research out of Yale showing that when you try new things that force you out of your comfort zone, your brain actually grows.
No idea if that's true 🤷🏼♀️ What I do know is that the more you try and the more you do, the more you become capable of.
Whether it's trying a new move in the gym or travelling to a new place (🙋🏼♀️😍), doing things you haven't tried before is a surefire way to grow.
I LOVE speaking to new people, exploring different places, trying cuisines I've never tried before, learning to cook new meals, trying a new sport...I'll probably do anything once 😂
Trying new things can be uncomfortable, hence why most of us end up stuck in a rut.
If you're bored or lacking inspiration, do something different. Especially if it scares you.
Before you know it, the new thing becomes the norm and that's how you expand your comfort zone 👌🏼
So, if you’ve ever checked out my insta stories you’ll know that I love to eat pancakes for breakfast! To be honest I eat these pancakes at any time of the day because they taste so great! What I don’t like about shop bought pancakes is the extra sugar and extra calories so guess what! I don’t buy them I make my own!
I can hear the groans and the “I don’t have time” comments but guess what these are so easy you can have a batch whipped up in about 10mins!
Would you like to eat pancakes at anytime of the day without the guilt?
Drop me a comment and I’ll give you the recipe.
I've been wanting to try making my own acai bowl - as I always find myself ordering them out! I never did because I assumed they were difficult. How wrong was I!
This is my 3rd attempt and I feel I've got it down pat now👌 I bought the @creativegourmetofficial organic acai and used the recipe on the back of the packet
DIY ACAI BOWL
1 acai pouch
1/2 cup pineapple, chopped frozen
1/2 banana, chopped frozen
1/2 cup mango, chopped frozen
1/2 cup Organic coconut milk
Blend together. Top with
Fresh fruit, seeds, toasted nuts, rolled oats and dried berries 👌💚
Ok. I did it. I went there. Pumpkin Spice before the official start of Fall. But I couldn’t help myself. It just sort of happened.
It’s also raw and sprouted! AND it can be used as a dip or a spread. Oooohhhh. Link in profile/comments 🤣🤤
I’m not really sure of this qualifies as a great food photo, but it kind of draws you in in a weird way... plus it was just WAY too good not to share.
As usual, #minimalistbaker knocks it out of the park again with her black bean and plantain enchiladas. I need to be careful. I could easily become a @minimalistbaker groupie and that could get weird...
Anyhoo. It was amazing. Oh and it’s pictured here on top of some Sprouts because, I don’t know, I thought it would taste good. And it did!
I also may or may not have plopped some way non vegan sour cream on top of this and eaten it that way too🤤🤷🏻♀️
Have an awesome Tuesday!
