Gerald polished off both our plates and bones and he’s not a “bone-sucker” so that’s saying something. Perfect pair with @garageproject ‘s red eye gravy beer and @tuatarabrew ‘s mushroom and truffle stout. Brewed to the Bone: Smoked beef short rib with candied bacon and Zany Zeus boozy cheese sauce in an Arobake bun, with curly fries.

Ribs make me happy. Give yourself plenty of time to rub, smoke and rest and you can’t go wrong. Cooked these low and slow on my Green Mountain Grill, didn’t wrap them and finished them off with a little mop at the end. Life and BBQ are best when kept simple.
Great time with some good people and good food at @shinthai.ro. They have just recently open up and their dishes are fantastic. I would let you know what to get but I would probably mention the whole menu.

Rock shrimp ravioli w/ fine herbs & lemon confit. Reminded me of an elevated wonton combined w/ a western flair. I was pretty blown away by the flavors. The bartender told us it was made with diced rock shrimp and a rich stock made from the shrimp heads. Pretty amazing.
This morning I was having breakfast with my parents in Ohio (at the crack of dawn) and then a few hours later I’m back to my little life in SF. Modern day travel is so crazy isn’t it? Here are some crab and mushroom wontons tucked in for a little nap, before taking a dunk in boiling water and then getting covered in chili oil 😛. Recipe is in the archives! I’m going to make like these dumps and take a mid-evening nap now. It’s a thing.
We have eggplants everywhere right now. This is #makdous oil-cured baby eggplants. These are chu chu eggplants which are traced back to India. They are tangy and firm. Once stuffed with walnuts, garlic, and red peppers they do something magical. One of my favorite things to have with some fresh pita. My chef @roryjameslee pulled it off! They are bananas!

I would say Doubles are the best Caribbean sandwich! Apparently, Doubles is a street food snack often eaten for breakfast. -I'd eat anytime! 👅 Doubles have clear Indian roots.
The filling is a spiced chickpea curry called channa, "Ah! I love❤ Channa!" kicked up with a hot pepper sauce, pickled green mango, and a tart tamarind sauce. All that is sandwiched in hot, fried flat-bread.😋
Maaaan, Chef Douglas makes FANTASTIC DOUBLES!!!! And it's $3!!! Woa woa Woa!!! 😍
You also need to try Trini- Style Chow Mein. Isn't it unique?
