🥔🌶🍆 If I would judge purely on the packaging I would say that the vegetable chips are “healthier”. Marketeers are doing an excellent job, making you think you’re making a better choice by choosing the ‘real vegetable chips’ when in fact you’re not. They are kinda the same... Just see for yourself, the differences in calories and nutrients are negligible 🤷🏼♀️Vegetable chips do contain a bit more fibre than the regular potato chips, but let’s be honest we don’t need to get our fibre from chips, do we 🙈
Take home message 💛 CHIPS = CHIPS! Chips in general needs to be eaten in moderation and not that often... but when you do have a cozy night (like I did last night💃🏼) just choose the one you like the most and enjoy it to the fullest! Vegetable chips are unfortunately not ‘healthier’ than regular potato chips. If you have any more suggestions or questions let me know. BIG LOVE NUBBIE 💛

Celebrating my small wins this week by treating myself these super cute bracelets designed by @debiflue ...part of every journey are a bunch of small steps that add up to bigger, and bigger wins. But without those small steps, those big wins would of never been possible. Celebrate your small steps. Because while your taking those steps, someone else is still sitting on the sidelines thinking about it ❤!

Grilled Scallops with veggies.
■■Why they're healthy: Scallops are more than 80 percent protein. "One 3-ounce serving provides 20 grams of protein and just 95 calories," says Bowden. They're also a good source of both magnesium and potassium. (Clams and oysters provide similar benefits.) ■■ #scallops#seafood#eathealthy#eatbetter#protein#veggies#vegetables

It’s never too late to ditch the old and build anew
You wake up every day and look in the mirror.
Staring back at you is a tired, mentally drained, hurting face.
Your day hasn’t even started yet, but you’re ready for it to be over.
You can’t find any clothes that fit and you quickly become pissed off and irritated. “Ugh, I’m so fat. I really need to lose some weight.” That negative self-talk pushes you even further into your bad mood.
You go about your day, but it’s just like every other day.
You microwave a frozen waffle that ends up being soggy. You drown it in sweet syrup in an attempt to make it somewhat edible.
You grab a Venti Caramel Macchiato on your way to work to get your caffeine fix.
You eat your company’s catered lunch to save yourself some money, but the options aren’t very optimal.
Once work ends, you go home and make a halfway decent dinner. No gym, though. No time for that!
Despite the fact that you want to change, you just don’t.
What does this building have to do with any of that?
Well, I used to live on that plot of land when I lived in DC. The thing is, it wasn’t always an apartment building.
It used to be a house. It wasn’t the best house, but it worked. Kind of the way that you likely feel about your body.
Despite the fact that the house had been there for years, developers saw an opportunity. They knocked it down and built it back up to something bigger and better.
You can do the same. It’s never too late to start over and build anew.
Not sure where to start? Ask me!
You could also start simply by downloading my free 12 Days of Christmas Challenge and giving that a shot! The link is in my bio.
In any case, never get discouraged and think it’s over for you. A new beginning or fresh start is just a moment away!
Oh and PS: I moved out of this house in September 2015. The new building still isn’t fully built. It takes time to knock down and rebuild, just like your body :)
I know it’s too early in the winter to whimper for fresh broccoli from the yard...
So we’ll have to be happy with frozen green gems from the freezer❄️🥦
And that’s not all bad - science shows that most of the nutrients that make broccoli such a powerhouse are still intact. Some - like riboflavin - actually increase!
Now all we need is a sure fire strategy to get it to our plate.

Morning All!!! It's another smoothie morning 😋. Just 3 simple ingredients. Raspberries, a banana, and a splash of orange juice! Topp it off with milled flax seed and chia seeds. It's very hydrating, has fiber, and it's sweet enough to get your sugar fix!! .
Ingredients: 1 handful of frozen raspberries, half of a banana, splash of orange juice of choice with high pulp. Top it off with milled flaxseed and chia seeds!! Enjoy!!
Let's talk chia☑We all know em. They're those tiny magical granuales that you find all over your counter after making a batch of overnight chia pudding. So cool how they plump over night, and pack a ton of protein with every bite! Recently dubbed as a modern day superfood, chia seeds are a potent antioxidant that are loaded with calcium, magnesium, & manganese! 📷mindbodygreen

Last night was one of the scariest moments of my life. I thought I was losing my super hero. So many times in the black community we put health on the back burner and credit poor choices to hereditary pre-existing conditions that we can’t avoid. What we eat is a direct reflection of how we view ourselves. The tradition of comfort food has worked its way into our identity as a necessity as opposed to its true form... A vice.
A vice that is limiting our productivity and taking some of our closest and dearest. As black men we brush off many warnings that this vice is destroying us until it’s too late. I vow to break this cycle as I am also guilty of making poor food choices. And I vow to break this cycle with my brother and dad together.
We were able to laugh through this ordeal because we took the necessary steps to prevent the worst, but the thought of losing my dad shook me to tears and reminded me that I have to do better to be here fo my boys as well. WE ALL NEED TO DO BETTER.
So this is kind of a hard break now, but I have some recipes left from summer and of course want to share them.😁 So here comes
Vinegar is a good way to preserve herbs and spices and also has lots of health benefits. A high-quality vinegar is good for digestion, strenghens the intestinal flora and is therefore also good for our metabolism.
For my mixtures I used an organic white wine vinegar. 🌿🌿
Rosemary vinegar (250ml)
A small hand full of rosemary leaves, 1 clove of garlic, 3 peppercorns. I cut the rosemary leaves and the garlic, so that the vinegar can extract more of the healthy ingredients. Rosemary strenghtens and stimulates. 🌿🌿
Here I put in some leaves from both herbs. It is a little taste-experiment. :-) Both herbs have a regulating effect on the stomach and are good for digestion.
Both vinegars have to rest 2-4 weeks now in the kitchen. Then you can filter them through a coffee filter.
🇹🇭 Another great thing about travelling in Thailand: the food!😁 We ate outside 2-3 times a day. In Bangkok as often as possible in the street kitchens and later in the not-tourist restaurants. There you get original food from mama and it is so cheap. Street kitchen: 0,80€-1,10€ for one meal and in the restaurants from around 1,50€ to 3€. Thai food for breakfast? I didn't think, I could do that, but it worked.😉 But I have to admit that after 4 weeks I was looking forward to some variations in the food again. The first thing we ate here was a big and fresh salad.😃
