Getting back into the grind after a week in Whistler, it was fun, but it's always great to come home. I did a shop yesterday to replenish our fridge and picked up some juicy figs. This morning we had some fig toasties for #toasttuesday ...it was like eatting dessert with coconut yogurt, coconut chips, cacao nips and dried edible flowers🍞🌸
The anatomy of a birthday cake 🍰Doesn’t it look like this poor specimen on foil is about to be examined?! Anyway, it was eaten and it was delicious. I always use the same recipe for my birthday cakes- it’s the best! It’s a vanilla cake recipe, then I add some cocoa to half of the batter and swirl it for the marbled effect. Tagliatelle, red vegan pesto, pan fried green beans in garlic and cherry toms and baked mushroom to top it off. One of my favourite and simple meals. Can’t go wrong with a decent pasta. #whatveganseat#homecooking#madewithlove
Throw back on when I had this delicious country pie from @lindamccartneyfoods (suitable for vegans) 🥧 I was sceptical of this as I’m not your typical pie fan 😅 yes I know I could of made some fluffy roast potatoes on the side but unfortunately I was in a rush, (next time I will though🤤), but overall this was super delicious & highly recommended, got from @sainsburys for only 2.00£
Have you tried this or any other Linda McCartney foods? 🌱✨
Life’s better with you!! 💕🤞🏾💋When I was 18, my older brother Dave said to me, ‘if you follow that dream of yours and actually move to Hawaii (I grew up in the prairies of Saskatchewan, 🌾Canada), be careful, you might fall in love with some surfer boy and live in some shack on the beach for the rest of your life!’ I laughed and said “good!!” ;) And that’s exactly what happened (minus on the beach, those shacks are actually millions of dollars... 😜) It took a solid week before Shem proposed almost 12 years ago now! Young, naive, maybe 14 dollars to our name and no logic invited into the equation...some how we made it work! It wasn’t easy but what is! I can’t imagine life any other way and forever grateful for not questioning my heart! Its gotta know more than we think we do! Do you believe that? You ever think about your future? The different chapters of life you’ll enter? What’s going to happen, who you’re going to meet, who you’ll fall in love with, what kinda job you’ll pursue, if you’ll have kids,if you’ll travel, if you’ll live some of your dreams and in the end what will make you look back on it all and make you happy? Growing up I had a lot of dreams. None that seemed attainable to be honest. Hawaii for example seemed like it didn’t even exist, I use to go to blockbuster looking for movies that had Hawaii in it just so I could see what it could be like! (Before the google search was a thing 😂) I decided that if I kept praying and did what I could to invite those dreams to transform into realities, work super hard, that my chances would be better! Life is always full of the unknown, it still is, but one thing I believe for sure is... each one of us is special and there is a unique life with unique challenges and triumphs thats waiting to unfold and make our life full! Let your heart guide the way ;)) 💫✨⚡️🌟⭐️

CREAMY. BUTTERNUT. VINAIGRETTE. It’s a thing now. New recipe up over on hashtagvegan.com, and it’s bound to be a fall favorite. I’ve been pouring this one over every salad (and by salad I mean rice bowl because truth be told, I don’t actually eat a lot of salads). Truth number two: yesterday Ben caught me opening the fridge, popping this dressing open, and literally just taking a sip of it. It’s that good.
Only SEVEN ingredients, including butternut squash, shallots, white balsamic vinegar, and @thenewbarn unsweetened almondmilk. I would caution against using any old almondmilk (in this recipe specifically) because the consistency relies on real almonds! Making your own almondmilk would of course work, but I don’t have time for that soooo...
This recipe was created in partnership with @thenewbarn and in case you were wondering, it is not random that I work with them. I loved and admired @thenewbarn long before we partnered up, and it’s easy to stand behind such a stand-up company. I look forward to chatting with founder Billie at Expo every year (he’s an actual angel FYI), and seeing their whole team reminded me how blessed I am to work with a company that truly cares. I can’t wait to see what they do in the next year or two. Big things!!
🌱Chia seed jam, so easy to make and refined sugar free. Perfect on brown bread...especially when said bread was brought over fresh from Ireland 😍
🍓 Simply mix frozen raspberries with chia seeds and add a dollop of maple or agave syrup. Then mix and leave overnight for the raspberries to defrost and the chia seeds to soak up their liquid resulting in the perfect sloppy jammy consistency. As well as tasting delicious, chia seeds are a great source of Omega 3😋😀🌱
i hiked all the way to lidl to buy these ready to bake fRoZeN pretzels and then i got distracted by a plant sale on the way home so they melted into one giant frankenstein’s monster pretzel 🌚 swipe 2 see the little pretzel buttholes i managed to salvage 🌝 + smoky roasted veg + falafel + ugly avo + a dip made from vegan mayo and dill pickles 🥒 delishis!!!
(Sorry for the messy floor🤷🏻♀️) Apple cinnamon and raisin weetabixs with soya light 😱👀💕 these are amazing!! found them in my local spar shop in my village on my way home from work, I’m so happy I brought them only 1.79£, I’m literally a weetabix addict (I have a serious problem I’m ashamed of)🤦🏻♀️
Are you a fan of weetabix? 🌱✨
Vegan shawarma wraps
These were quick and just what my hangover needed at the time 🙄. I used @vivavivera shawarma “meat” which was so tasty and easy to prepare.
To start I chopped a shallot and covered in lemon juice and a bit of salt. Next I just grated a carrot and chopped some coriander, Then cooked the shawarma in a bit of oil in a frying pan for 5 minutes.
To make the wrap all I did was heat them in the microwave then piled on all the fillings with vegan mayo and sriracha. Amazing!! 🔥🔥🔥
A closer look at this morning’s breakfast! I usually don’t have time to cook this much in the mornings but I made the time since I have so much work to get done today, definitely worth it! A tofu scramble with tomatoes, onions, and kale, breakfast potatoes, and a fruit salad 😍 what’s your favorite breakfast when you have a long day ahead of you?
