Weekend brunches were hard for me before I discovered tofu scrambles! I'm not a huge fan of sweet breakfasts, so I struggled with what to eat when I cut out eggs. But scrambles are incredibly easy, versatile, and a healthy start to the day as well! Today I made a southwestern style with garlic, onion, peppers, black beans, and corn. I seasoned it all with turmeric, nutritional yeast, salt and a little cumin. Vegan breakfast dilemma- solved!!
I always share my failures, as well as my successes. Today, was an epic fail. I attempted @lazycatkitchen’s vegan pumpkin ravioli. I spent hours making vegan ricotta, roasting pumpkin for the filling and making dough, then putting it all together. But I used plain flour because that’s all I had and am assuming that was my big mistake because this tasted like glue! Ah well, you win some, you lose some and it was fun to make even if it wasn’t so fun to eat. Anyone got any vegan pasta making tips they care to share?!?! ❓🆘🍽

Broccoli udon stir fry 🌱 You can tell I've had guests over by the fact that there's actually a garnish on my food. When cooking for just myself my dinners have much more of a messy thrown-in-a-bowl vibe going on 🙈 My partner said that the broccoli actually becomes the 'meat' in this dish and he was right. It was pan fried in a bit of soy sauce & sesame with fresh garlic & ginger and worked so well amongst the spices of the noodles & peppers etc. Didn't need any fancy meat substitutes here! - Ella ☀️
Tried the Hanoi Bike Shop in Great Western Road a few months back and they have a full vegan menu to choose from! Not going to lie, I do not remember what any of the dishes were called that I had but they were all really good! Highly recommend 😋🍛🍜🍴🥄🥗 @hanoibikeshop
i think we saved the best til last: a takeaway from @kebabi.amsterdam with a mixed platter (cheese rolls, bitter ballen, hummus bitter ballen and nuggets) because we don’t mess around 😤 contrary to popular belief we didn’t have the munchies the whole holiday, we just have bottomless pits for stomachs 😇 last push: amsterdam blog post link in biooo
I went to a party where a lot of meat was served! 😫 I just made “sides” tacos & they were delicious! #survivor
(BTW there WERE more people at the party, it was to my right! 😂)
There were burgers, wings and pulled pork tacos being served....this happens at some events I attend because not everyone is vegan...YET!!😉

I had some grilled corn tortillas with lettuce, pickled cabbage, jalapeños, green salsa & pico de gallo. Easy...they tasted good & I was full!! 👍🏻
I had a few conversations with people about why I was taking pictures 🙈 and about my take on the Impossible Burger.
I think it’s important to always be ready and open to have these conversations, without sounding preachy or judgmental. (Even though everyone was chewing on chicken wings and hamburgers. 😢)
The good news is I was talking to someone and he said he’s working on cutting out all meat & I told him how great that was! We have to acknowledge everyone’s progress no matter how small it may seem. ❤️
My favourite herbal tea: orange pistachio rooibos from Anteaques in Newington, Edinburgh ☕🧡
Anteaques was a wonderful, specialist tea shop and café that also sold antiques.The owners wore waistcoats, and were always polite, sweet and friendly. There were just a few antique tables where you could sit and drink from pretty, dainty China. They had amazing home-made scones and jam, and you could get lavender jam made from the flowers in their own garden 🍰💜
I'm sad that the original owners have left, but hopeful that their teas will continue on!
