Let’s talk tablescape! I put together this table setting using items I already had around my home! When I first set my mind on doing a Christmas table I laughed to myself because I literally thought I had nothing to make one! But I put on my creative “hat,” dug through my old tucked away treasures and came up with this!🌲The place mat is made out of wrapping paper, the flatware is just our everyday dinnerware with the added touch of Hearth and Hand plates from @target and the center piece is a mix of fresh greenery with birch candles from our wedding! The place setting can be easily repeated for a few guests or many! Moral of the story... you never know what you have until you really search deep in a desperate moment! 🌲🌲#christmastablescape#christmasdiy
Today on the blog I’m sharing my Christmas Home Tour 🌲 It’s minimal, but still feels very cheery. With all the hustle and bustle that the holiday season brings I was craving a lot less stuff at home and a lot more time with family. It feels just right 👌🏻 What are you craving this holiday season?
This sunburst mirror is one of my first DIY’s. You can still find it on my blog. It has served us well but I’m thinking the new year may be bringing a larger mirror that can reflect more of our windows. You can get immediate source info a few different ways:
1️⃣ Download the @LIKEtoKNOW.it app and follow me there
2️⃣ Screenshot this photo to get shopable links in the @LIKEtoKNOW.it app
3️⃣ Visit the Shop My Instagram page on my blog https://crazy-wonderful.com http://liketk.it/2yNtJ @liketoknow.it @liketoknow.it.home #liketkit#LTKhome#LTKholidayathome
Circles have no end and neither does our love for this mirror🌾>> A creative way to make a small space look larger is to play with shapes. Who else loves this simple yet stylish trend?🙋🏼♀️ #mindylavenhome ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Look what just arrived! Fresh outta the kiln- only 5 of each, so hurry, cause they sold out fast last time! Also only 1 Shapeshifter is left, but I'm working on more today. I've allowed for you bro purchase the incense even after it runs out, just know that they won't be shipping for at least 3-4 days! So if you order a burner with cones today. It'll ship as soon as the cones are dry!
FRINGE (!!!!!) - have I mentioned that I like fringe yet??!⠀
Once or twice maybe?🤩🤫⠀
This is seriously one of my FAVORITE items. I love making it, I love shipping it, and I love love love seeing it in its new forever homes!⠀
[i also love to look at these photos of it from my photoshoot in the woods-it was really feeling itself that day 💁🏽♀️]⠀
She’s soft, fringy and funky and available for order right meow 😻 pop over to the Etsy shop so, you could be petting that fringe in your own home in just a few days!! ✨
“There’s so much I love about what I’m able to bring to this project from the moment my pencil flows across a piece of paper to create a new rug design. The collaborative spirit of the process, that includes 3 continents and cultures, is so inspiring. I value all the people (and sheep!) who contribute their passion, artistry, and luminous wool to creating rugs that are beautiful and will endure a lifetime.” ~ kate d. spain, eye heart hand® founder and designer @katespain
I’m always so impressed with people who can get their Christmas cards out so early! I used this adorable wooden stick tree from @target for my card holder this year & I love it! This year I think we may do a New Years card, since we have such a big Christmas break ... do any of you do New Years cards?
Easing into the holidays with this little minimal waste setup!! I’ve never had a real xmas tree before and didn’t know the first thing about caring for one 🙈 but thanks to tips from so many friends responding to my cry for help, we decided to get a mini potted tree. Hopefullyyy we can keep it alive and repot it in the new year so it lasts for a good long while 🌲✨ #choosetoreuse
I made the ornaments using materials already on hand - clay & leather cord for the round ones, and twine & cotton string for the tassels. check out my post from dec. 2 if you’re curious about the botanical-pressed clay ornaments 🌾 the garland was a 5 minute project using juniper branches from our yard and a few dried protea stems!
And the stockings! I found them secondhand 🧦 there’s one for me, @reeddeangelis, and of course Stewart the Dog 👩🏼🎨👨🏻🏫🐄 I’m curious, what earth-friendly decorations are you turning to this season? There are a few spots in my apartment I want to make festive but I’m drawin a blank!!
The girls’ room has to be one of my favorite rooms in the entire house. Everything we bought for this room was found either on the street, FB marketplace or on clearance. It came together so perfectly and suits both of their little spunky personalities, especially the clearance @target wallpaper that Olivia HAD to have.
Do you have a favorite room in your house?
This time last year, I was launching The Wedding Guide (which I have some secret news on I’ll announce soon).
Then I dove head first into surface pattern design. Because I’ve had a secret dream of seeing my work on fabric and wallpaper and all the things!!
Then I grew The Wedding Collection and launched a wax seal design with @artisaire.
Teaching these new @skillshare classes has really unleashed a love for sharing what I’ve learned over the years (or more than likely, the hard way). ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But y’all ...I’m not super human. I could NOT have done all the things I’ve done this year if I didn’t make some changes. ...if I didn’t outsource some labor. ...if I didn’t fight some of the burnout I was feeling. ...if I didn’t rest. ...if I didn’t cut the fat off of my business and make it as lean as possible SO I could do all of these things!
I am so incredibly grateful for this past year. I am so incredibly grateful for YOU. Every double tap, DM, every comment. Each one puts a smile on my face.
I hope that as you enter 2019, you enter it with a fire underneath you. With an energy level that shows you where you can improve, where you can grow, and perhaps most importantly, where you can REST and work smarter, not harder.
On this beautiful carpet, you can see the male symbols. Male motifs, unlike the spreading female ones, are always long and thin. Their basic forms are always straight lines, sticks, ribbons or beams. You can see on this rug also the equal-armed cross.
One of the most amazing aspects of Berber carpet art is how the Berber woman succeeds in shrouding the profound desire of her intimitate self in abstract symbolics forms, but occasionally also reveals it with a spontaneous lack of restraint.
This one is a Boujad rug (K-boj-438) 19O x 25O cm. DM for purchase 😊
I had some spare minutes today (as I was tanning in my 12 minute coffee break 🙃) so I thought I’d share the mood board I made o we the weekend.. items are all tagged. I know it’s a little rough but hope it inspires you too xx
This ones inspired by my garden, full of pops of colour and pretty spikey things 🤗 I love the forms of cacti and waiting patiently for the flowering season. 🌷 ‘Cactus Garden’ original watercolour on 300gsm watercolour paper. A3, framed $250 🌵
