A much needed mini hiatus was in order. Not from social media, per se, but kinda just from all things that were bogging me down. I needed to reconnect to the things that make my heart skip a beat, the things that make me feel like me, my most creative self. I am refreshed, rejuvenated, reenergized. I am inspired. On a secondary note, and part of this season of inspiration, I have completed yet another milestone portion of my herbalism certification and I am absolutely dancing in the beautiful knowledge of the abundance of nature creation.
#walkwithme for a moment
The world’s injustices are being thrusted into the media & as a person who is cautious about what I allow into my mind & body, I am feeling deeply impacted by the atrocities happening right now. I feel the pain of others so deeply. I’m also at @wanderlustfest this weekend - practicing yoga, meditating, in nature, hearing & having conversations about peace, love & connectedness with people who can afford $100 yoga mats & who rarely if ever have to consider whether a space is safe for them... I recognize being here is a privileged experience & am only here because I was gifted this opportunity by a kind soul. I know this is not ‘the norm’ for many people. For people who come from where I come from.
Where I come from, no one ever used words like wellness, vegan, yoga or meditation. I didnt hear these words until I left my community for grad school in my early 20’s. I never tasted fresh cherries or peaches until I was 21! It doesnt escape me that people with similar backgrounds as I, the populations I serve & the people I am passionate about empowering do not have access to ‘retreats’ & ‘hippie’ spaces. When you are worried about basic needs, how can you take someone serious who says ‘believe in abundance & you shall receive’? :
Today I walked barefoot with a small group of strangers, in a place I never even considered visiting, secluded & in silence. I was powerfully present in my body & on this mountain. I am aware that many people don’t have the luxury, access or ability to participate in self care or ‘wellness’ in this way.
Which is why (if you’re still reading lol) I am adamant about wellness being ACCESSIBLE. Living well, living your best life, being full of joy & gratitude is EVERY human’s birth right. It is my life’s mission to bring wellness, knowledge & understanding to everyone. There are few things more beautiful than to stand side by side with a person & help them feel empowered in their life. To watch someone realize how worthy & powerful they are is an overwhelmingly beautiful experience to witness.
You deserve to be & feel free. You deserve to find inner peace. You deserve health. You deserve to be whole.
Yesterday at Nature School the Kids built a rope ladder all by themselves🏕
The knot used was simple to learn and they all picked it up very quickly👍
Some of the children learned just how much persistence can be required to saw a piece of wood in half🌲
Lately when I’ve been going on my weekend adventures I keep getting the urge to kick my shoes off and feel the earth beneath my feet. I never really put much thought behind it until recently I’ve noticed every time I get done I feel recharged, my mind is clear, I feel at peace. I stated looking into it to see if there was a reason behind it.
Grounding or Earthing is the process for reconnecting to the Earth. This connection to Earth balances your present moment awareness between body, mind, and spirit. Groundedness is the state of experiencing a harmonious connection with Earth energy, which is our natural state, but sometimes the physical body and our connection to Earth energies gets neglected.
Believe it, don’t believe it, honestly I could give a shit less. My point here is when is the last time other than maybe the beach you’ve taken off your shoes and just walked in nature? Have you ever laid on the beach, in the grass, and just drifted off to sleep? I know I have, i do it quite often, until I get confused as a bum and the cops make me leave (the way I dress probably doesn’t help my case but, yolo?) Nature has always been a way of clearing my head, losing touch with this technology driven world we live in where binge watching Netflix and forever scrolling thru IG is the norm. Although I say all the time I wish I was born in a different time, that’s something I have no control over. What brings me peace is knowing that adventure is out there and all I have to do is kick off my chucks and get lost in nature. I challenge you to put down your phones, get out of your house, and experience what this earth really has to offer. To me, that’s livin and guess what? It’s free! #illbeonmygypsyway 🦁✌🏾
This was a great day! Just this past Monday evening....Did i catch .... well no... but twice i got hit by two big snook which took my lure and left me with a frayed line. I was pretty happy about that though. The mullet were jumping crazily and you could see the reds... tails popping the tops of the water. I didn’t care if i caught or not. I was so happy to be right where i was. Feet grounded in the sandy bottom of Tampa Bay. Feeling the little crabs running across my toes and tips of my feet. Waist deep in the beautiful clear water. All my pores being bathed in beautiful Magnesium from Mother Earth. Any Of you that know me know I’m a magnesium Junkie! That’s a whole other lesson though....Looking across the water to see the beautiful Sunshine Skyway in the distance and feeling the sun on my skin. This time for me wade fishing was different. I really connected with the thought and feeling of Earthing. For those of you that are not so familiar with the term it basically simply means connecting to the earth. Just as the sun gives us warmth and vitamin D, the Earth underfoot gives us food and water, a surface to walk, sit, stand and play and build on. And something you never, ever thought about- an internal natural and gentle energy. I like to call this vitamin G - the G for GROUND. You may have heard this in in yoga or from one of your woo woo friends but what does that really mean? Just means absorbing the gentle healing energy from the earth. Going from feeling ok to feeling really good. Recharging the body with the electrons from Mother Earth. After all we are mostly made up of water and minerals. Earthing is free. So get outside and walk across the grass barefoot, lay on the beach, go for a swim. Just go do it for no other reason than to do it.
So i didn’t care if i caught or not. I just plugged into the Mother ship. And man what a game changer. For this I am eternally grateful🌍💦☀️🦋💜🌿
Missed international yoga day by a hair 🙈 BUT here’s a little flow with me and the sister-in-law @mystic_watermaiden by the lake 🌲🕉
I was on what you might call a yoga vision quest when I first met Mike... we met in a vinyasa class early one morning in Costa Rica (we are heading back there tomorrow for our honeymoon!). I was by myself, he was surfing and dabbling in a bit of yoga. I was so excited when I found out his sister was a yoga teacher! Soon after I would be completing my own YTT with @activeyogi 🙏 I can’t tell you how much yoga helped me reconnect with myself after years of living a fast-paced, out of touch lifestyle that did not prioritise stillness or self-awareness. I would not have been in the frame of mind I was in when I met the love of my life had I not done that work. Practising yoga was my ticket in. I shifted my focus from looking at it as a workout to embracing it to “work in”. I go through ebbs and flows with my practice, but I always remind myself of why I started. It was never about the poses or the pace, it was always to invite myself to slow down, go inward, feel & reflect. To this day I still tune in to what I need in every class. There are times where I catch myself wanting to push through a pose but I always pat myself on the back when I give in and find child’s pose when I need it most. It’s like hugging yourself, acknowledging that it’s ok to surrender and be proud that you know yourself well enough to do just that. It is my moving meditation. Never perfect, but always just what I need if I allow myself to come back to the breath and connect ✨
I CAN'T NOT SHARE THIS WITH YOU!
I have been doing this for a few months now, in addition to the oil pulling I already do - I wish I would've done this sooner.
1. Take about 3 tbsp. of coconut oil
2. One tsp. of baking soda
3. Essential peppermint oil
First put the coconut oil in a small glass container. THEN add in the baking soda. Stir them together really good. Next add in as much essential peppermint oil as you'd like (about 10 drops). MIX all three ingredients together really good. WET your toothbrush and dab it in the All Natural Teeth Whitening toothpaste. Brush as you normally would, rinse your mouth out really good and be amazed. DO NOT SPIT INTO SINK WHEN YOU'RE DONE because the coconut oil can harden and clog up your sink.
HOW IT WORKS:
Coconut oil is antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal! Studies have shown that coconut oil destroys the bacteria that can cause tooth decay and the yellowing of teeth. The other primary ingredient in this toothpaste is baking soda. Baking soda is a very mild abrasive which aids in cleaning and whitening teeth, and restoring pH balance.
After I did this I got SO excited! I can't believe how much brighter my teeth are after just one two-minute use. I took a picture and sent it to my husband right away and he was amazed too. My teeth really are noticeably whiter and I feel like I just left the dentist. All the tarter is completely gone. And to think I was going to buy one of those teeth whitening strip thingys just a few days ago.
Have you tried this before? Will you now?
I bought the coconut oil from Target for like $9, the baking soda from Whole Foods for $6 and the essential peppermint oil is @younglivingeo . If you're not a peppermint person, essential cinnamon oil is good too!
Happy Summer Solstice!! It was so peaceful welcoming the new season wandering around @vondelpark._ and charging my crystals on the Earth 🏞️🌴
The solstice is all about letting go, and getting lost in the beautiful park was such a fun trip 🚀🤗 As we enter this powerful phase we can reflect on what not longer serves us. Is there a belief system, person, emotion, story or habit that you need to let go of? The powerful energies of the solistice will help you RELEASE the old to make space for the new 🙌🏼
When you ride the roads less travelled you end up in the most marvelous places. .
The roads may be rough, lots of pot holes and bumps, dead ends and jagged cliffs, but the view from the top is the reward. .
It’s something you would never see if you didn’t keep going.
Later today! How I create my Holistic Spiritual Luxury skin serum.
Y’all are going NUTS over this. .
💠Aquamarine- It is calming, soothing, and cleansing, and inspires truth, trust and letting go. In ancient lore, Aquamarine was believed to be the treasure of mermaids, and was used by sailors as a talisman of good luck, fearlessness and protection. It was also considered a stone of eternal youth and happiness. .
❇️Emerald - Emerald is a powerful stone with high energy and healing powers. In skincare, it is a great anti-age ingredient because it boosts collagen production, prevents loss of moisture and stimulates new cell formation, repairing damaged skin, evening out skin tone and improving skin’s elasticity, resulting in a reduction of fine lines and wrinkles.✨
. ◾️Tourmaline- In the realm of holistic healing, tourmaline is believed to strengthen the body and spirit. ... As an energizing stone, tourmaline is believed to vitalize the skin, making it appear more radiant and youthful. .
💜Amethyst- Amethyst crystals carry a negative charge—toxins, free radicals, and other hazardous waste carry a positive charge. This is important in the removal of toxins and free radicals. The negative ions draw out the positively charged particles to detoxify and cleanse your skin—giving your skin a clean, refreshed feel.
The Getty Center is one of the best museums I’ve been to. Not only is it an art gallery, but an outdoor garden as well. ⠀
The place has a unique and modern design. The views of Los Angeles are breathtaking from the terraces and the garden. ⠀
And it’s free too. Though, you would have to pay $15 for parking, or nothing if you didn’t come with a car 😀 ⠀
First, I enjoyed the paintings and the story of Getty’s life. The guy was the richest man of his time in the world 🌎! He earned his first million $ when he was 23 y.o. He was in oil industry. Good timing 😎⠀
Then, I headed to the garden, enjoyed the views and the green lawn. It was great #earthing and ‘me’ time. ⠀
If you feel like having a bite, you can grab a sandwich 🥪 in a cafe there. If you’d like something more significant, there is a restaurant with a spectacular view of LA hill. I had a sandwich and fruit, I never say ‘no’ to good food ☺️⠀
As far as I could tell, locals would come to the Getty to enjoy themselves in beautiful surroundings. For a tourist the place is definitely a must visit and should be on the top of the list of places to visit in #LA ⠀
Oh, and one more thing, make sure you put on your sunscreen, otherwise you will for sure get a sunburn or farmer’s tan 😅⠀
Переводить? 😜 Или вы спросите в комментах незнакомые слова? Я ж хочу, чтоб вы думали по-английски 😇
Hope everyone enjoyed yesterday’s solstice! (Captured some nature sounds and visuals for you guys.) Many teachings became available yesterday while walking barefoot throughout a portion of yesterday’s SOULstice hike. (Here’s one lesson I can share)
Walking without shoes meant that I had no insulation to absorb all the sensations I was feeling. I had to completely surrender all of my awareness. As my awareness shifted it became very apparent that when we are connected we feel things much more intensely; which leads us to live and act differently. This had me questioning society and our awareness of connection and how it is more valuable than our disconnection.
Annnnnywho, yesterday’s lesson was a beautiful reminder of our ability to acknowledge our shared interconnection and the profound value this awareness has on our perception of the world.
Love and light to ya!

Incase u’re wondering why there’s a picture of a dead bee. There was a point when I could no longer assist the bee so we sat together sharing the love and admiring life’s many stages.)
