Last week around this time I was knee deep in pain and tears. The day I hoped never arrived came, my grandmother transitioned. The past week has been surreal and really hard. Little by little I finding more space for gratitude.
I'm grateful for the day captured a few months ago with my grandmother. We spent quality time together alone and she taught me how to handle my favorite green, lalo. I never have had to prepare lalo because either my grandmother, mother, or aunts would prepare it.
I realize that Yes Baby I Like It Raw probably not be what it is if it were not for the influence of my grandmother.
She started teaching me how
to cook at 10. She gave me my first detox when I first started to she signs of my autoimmune disorder. She thought I may be toxic and needed to get the toxins out. We baked my first dish together. Which was quite a hilarious experience. She was used to making things from scratch and her culinary database was only Haitian food. I picked up a chocolate cake mix and we conquered it together or rather it conquered us. We feared that it would not come out right so we decided to only use half the cake mix. The thing is we didn't half anything else and we baked it in the toaster oven. Whomp whomp whomp...epic fail. Then there was the time I convinced the family to make the Thanksgiving Turkey in the microwave. Can we say, "forever ever." The face she made when I had her try the butternut squash soup, "Who makes sweet soup." She taught me different herbal remedies for worms, stomach pain, to induce delivery, as well as what to use for post partum care and much more.
She made me want to learn me and do more when it came to food and healing.
I am grateful for all the memories. I am grateful for all the lessons. I am most grateful for her love.
I’m taking all my fave foods from other page so I know what to focus on in my blog.
Good old morning porridge and berry’s - always a winner! The milk is bland based and I blended it up with banana and dates to make it sweet
🍇 The Power of Grapes 🍇
I just drank my fresh grape juice (with a hint of fennel today - YUM!) and had a bit of 'pulling' and some pain come through.
This sometimes happens when I drink grape juice as I can feel the areas where I still need to dig into; my gut and my upper chest/shoulder/neck area.
.👉Grapes will expose the areas in which need more work. Other fruits will do this as well though I notice grape juice can be more intense. ✔️If you feel discomfort when adding in more fruit, write it down and keep track of what you felt; WHERE was the discomfort coming from? This can give you an idea of what needs ATTENTION and INTENTION.
Example: I know that I need to dig more into my Upper Circulatory/Brain and Nerve. My lymph nodes near my neck are a bit overloaded so I need to work on some neuro-lymph points, kidney filtration, and also keep working on cleaning out my colon and strengthening my connective tissue (I was told I have a prolapsed colon and that is exactly where I feel the pull). If you want to dig in yourself, add in some grapes and you will FEEL things move.
🍇Grapes are extremely astringent and will move the lymph aka pull out acids. You may feel this PULL. This is stagnant lymph full of metabolic wastes beginning to MOVE.
🍇Grapes are high in fiber and will facilitate movement of the bowels = you will clean out that colon! Even being on grapes for an extended period of time (2 or 3 weeks or more) you will find that you are still eliminating waste. You will clean out waste that has been in there for YEARS!
🍇Grapes are high in water content and will hydrate you interstitially. Your skin will thank you and you will see and feel the difference. Remember - you are entirely made of cells. And when your cells are happy and hydrated you will be too!
If you want to dig in, add a glass of grape juice a day. This is a great way to start the process of really getting deep without doing a full grape feast all at once.
Have fun and remember the PULL is good 🙂

::H E L L O ! part 1:: I want to take a moment to say 👋, introduce myself, and tell you a bit of my story.
🙂 My name is Kristina Knopic and I am the proud Mama of this little fellow, my first child and son, Rowan. This photo was taken just a handful of weeks after he was born last year ❤️
My boy is much bigger now at 18 months old and 💥WOW💥 is he just the silliest, strongest, and most FIREY toddler I know! I wanted an Aries and I got one 🔥😂🔥
😍I am madly in love with the man of my dreams, Robert Whitcombe, who is my best friend and partner in this adventure called life.
🌈💥✨He and I have some BIG WILD DREAMS, many of which have already come true or are coming true! Are you a dreamer and a do-er? Because I REALLY love you already if you are 🙌
🌎His and my biggest passions collided when we first met (and that's a fantastic story for another day let me tell you 😅) when we both realized our mutual love of this Earth and especially the healing nature of the plants that inhabit it.
🤘At that time, I was running my farmers market business, Earth Food. We were providing handmade superfood-filled allergen friendly tasty raw and baked organic goods to literally thousands of very appreciative customers every year from my beginnings in 2012 - Fall of 2015.
🌅Earth Food came into existence after several quite scary years surrounding problems with my health. After facing what could have been the end of my life due to the complications of it all, my calling instead turned into a story of deep healing through unabashedly loving myself and a full-body/mind/soul regeneration utilizing - you guessed it - plants as my primary support!
🌿🌲🌱 Plants as food. Plants as supplementation. Plants as essential oils. Plants as my organic backyard permaculture garden friends. Plants as the powerful, whole-self loving wellness tools that they truly are!
⁉️So what happened to Earth Food and what brought myself to Oil My Life?? Well, part 2 is coming tomorrow! 'Til then please answer a few questions for me:
1. What's your name and are you a dreamer? A do-er? Both?
2. What are your passions?
3. What is it about essential oils that interests you the most?
Greek yogurt with strawberries and papaya. I grew up eating papaya as a little boy. My grandma always had a tree planted in the yard.
In Cuban cuisine it was popular to make dulce de papaya with this fruit. This required a process of boiling it down in a mixture of water and lots of sugar. The finish dessert would then be served with a piece of cream cheese or queso blano. Not the healthiest but still, the smells and taste of papaya remain a part of my memory.
Today I eat it fresh and use it in healthy recipes. Papaya is an excellent source of Vitamin C, Pottassium and fiber and may aid prevent cancer.

Smoothies and what happened to be too thick of a smoothie I dumped into a bowl and topped it with this 😆
Banana, blueberries, red currant, walnuts and hemp seeds
Happy Tuesday 😁🙌🏽
So the weather is slowly making it's turn for the worst and winter is around the corner ❄
Therefore what better way to warm up than with some fresh homemade soup , so simple and effective and easy to make!
For this VITAL soup I blended up:
Sweet Red Peppers
I then added Coconut Milk, Garlic , Chilli , Parsley , Thyme, Sea Salt & Black Pepper while cooking on the Hob.
Next I boiled some Dumplings using SPELT flour and added to the soup.
Once happy with the taste serve it up and I added pumpkin/ sunflower seeds with wholemeal toast to soak it all up !
Great comfort food for winter ! 😎 Blessings 🙏🏽

Don’t live a diet ... live a lifestyle!
To be bold, I would say most of the population deals with adrenal fatigue, the question is just to what degree.
Thankfully, you can choose small steps everyday to nourish your adrenals and improve yoru ability to digest plant-based foods!
If you notice you feel a bit shakey, or bloated after having fruit, that may be your adrenals talking!
Here are some simple steps to take now to restore proper adrenal function:
- Drink licorice root tea daily
- Focus on stress-releasing activities daily
- Adding in high-alkine forming foods
- Choosing lower glycemic fruit options
It is important to not cut out fruit out of your diet altogether. Instead, choose low-glycemic fruits such as cucumbers, citrus fruits, grapes, strawberries, cherries, peaches, plums, apples and pears. Focus on adding in a small amount and increasing weekly or monthly.
Some of my clients who were unable to digest fruits altogether start with one grape a day while also drinking a small amount of citrus juice mixed with water.
Repairing adrenal function may take time though it is possible.
