C A R // we really love playing with cars in this house and being able to send them racing down the ramp just adds to the fun. Using this great road tape from @flyingtiger again. Although I had to add extra sticky tape to the table as the road didn’t want to stick to the plastic. Don’t forget to check out the rest of the #nov_playalong team for some fab ideas.
Working on matching animal prints this morning! 🦃🐿🦌🐖
The boys have been very interested in making tracks in the snow lately so I was super excited when I found this printable from @montessorinature 💙
She has so many great, affordable printables!
When you have a toddler and used to be an early childhood educator....homemade toys for a random found love of cars!! 😊items used: pampers box, green construction paper, tape, sharpie, and clear contact paper. All with the help of hubby. #teamwork
We did water colour painting yesterday. I drew on the paper with a white crayon before letting her paint with it. Not only did she learn about gentle strokes using paint brushes, she’s also learnt how the crayon repelled the water colour away from it.
Next, I got out a better quality water colour paper. On this piece, I showed her first, how the water colour spreads on a wet surface by wetting the paper first with clean water. Next, I showed her how different colours interacted with each other, creating another colour. (She discovered yellow + blue = green when she accidentally dipped her blue filled brush in the yellow before that 😂)
Now, I’ve just asked her what has she got in mind to do tomorrow and she answered “painting”. Oh, honey. I do hope you’ll always love art as much as mummy does.

❄️Cover in cling wrap overnight.
🏆Keep in a seal tight container and in fridge for long lasting play time.
To simulate shopping at the supermarket (just like mummy), we provide a mini shopping trolley, a cute cashier board, a checklist to make sure at least one food in each food group has been purchased, in-house designed dollars and coins, a little wallet, and specially designed Food Cards! (include food prices, images of required money amounts to help the little ones pay, fun facts to guide little ones in making an informed decision) This activity will help children learn about fun nutrition facts about their food, choose a balanced diet, number recognition and matching (for the young ones) and budgeting and calculation (for the older ones). What a fun way to learn!
PAPER HAIRCUTS || This paper haircut activity is great for developing scissor skills and hand eye coordination. We drew faces onto rectangles of paper, used scissors to cut the hair and then curled the ends around a marker pen. This activity was inspired by a recent post from @4kids2moms - thank you for the inspiration. #CINTA_scissorskills
Welcome to the T.T Family Sheldon 🎉 Sheldon is our new Early Childhood Teacher! Be sure to make her feel welcome by saying hello and introducing yourself. Sheldon has set up some very inviting environments ready for tomorrow!

Self portraits can say a lot about how we view ourselves. They also provide a fun experience to observe and develop a whole range of other learning domains. Next year, my goal is to encourage children to provide me with a self portrait every six months until the end of 2020! Imagine the progress we will be able to see 😍😍

🎁CHRISTMAS GIFT IDEAS🎁
Well it’s not so much a guide but it’s to show you the things my daughter loves most at the moment in case you want some low cost inspiration for gifts this season...that are not books...
NOTHING trumps the babies though but figured I didn’t need to photograph them.
All of these suggestions get used everyday multiple times a day which makes them even better value for money!
These @melissaanddougtoys WATER COLOURING PADS are nothing short of brilliant! Use them anywhere any time as it’s a water pen that uncovers a coloured picture as you paint the page. We have them at my daughter’s table and she can easily grab them and get started any time she wishes. Seriously they are amazing!
The DOCTOR KIT continues to grow in popularity every day. My sil gifted it to us and it’s been one of the best toys so far. My daughter has a very good bedside manner ☺️ and alternates between being a doctor and vet.
The TEA SET is a super hit. We received it as a gift when my daughter was one and is also a gift that keeps on giving. I don’t know how many cups of tea I’ve pretended to drink so far!
I haven’t met a kid who doesn’t like writing on a WHITE BOARD with MARKERS. This one I picked up from @daiso_official and it comes with a magnetic eraser which makes it a little easier not to loose! I picked up this cute little stationary case and the mini markers there too. The board stays at my daughter’s table but the marker case gets stored up higher and she just asks when she wants me to bring them down.
The CHALK BOARD STICKER is from @ikea_australia and is great for practicing writing and drawing standing up which helps develop core strength needed for writing. I have the chalk tray on a stool right next to the board.
Lastly, we have the trusted FINGER PUPPETS from @ikea_australia that are great to bring in the car, leave in the cot (giving me a little extra time in the morning😉) or out to a cafe or restaurant. They’re also a fun prop for keeping little hands busy during story time!
What are some other suggestions for 2 year olds? What toys or activities do your little ones love every day?
