Celebrate Women's Day at The KZNSA Gallery, together with Art for Humanity, on Thursday 09 August 2018 from 13h00. All are welcome to attend a Masterclass with artist Khanyisile Mbongwa.
Khanyisile Mbongwa is a Gugulethu-born independent curator based in Cape Town. In 2006 she was amongst the founding members of the artist collective Gugulective.
Her work has since allowed her to travel locally and internationally Germany, Spain, Pakistan, Scotland, New York, Switzerland, Belgium, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Just to mention a few of Mbongwa’s works and awards: In 2014 she interned at GIPCA under the supervision of Jay Pather, curated the PreLIFE talks and assisted with the general running of Life Art Festival. In 2014 she won the Africa Centre - Artist In Residency Laureate and took up residency at JIWAR in Spain in 2015. *Entry is free and all are welcome. Complimentary drink provided.

The KZNSA Gallery present LAB Talks: Traditional Doll-Making on Thursday 2 August 2018 at 16h00.
Join us in conversation with Prof. Kate Wells of the Siyazama Project, a project enabling craftswomen from rural KZN to express their concerns about HIV/AIDS through the making of beautiful beaded cloth dolls. She is joined by the @phansimuseum's Paul Mikula who will delve into on the symbolism and mysticism of dolls, using examples from the Phansi museum’s impressive archival doll collection.
