Tried another café, this time Covent Garden in Bilk. As the name already hints at, it is inspired by Covent Garden in London with its vibrant, hip flair. It is rustically decorated with some London-y elements and has a very cozy, relaxed atmosphere which makes it easy to spend hours and hours there. Really reminded me of my time abroad in England and kinda made me feel at ‘home’ ❤️.
Their paninis sounded very intriguing which is why we ordered the “Mediterranean” (brown bread with homemade tomato pesto, feta, rocket, tomatoes, basil, grilled veggies, honey-mustard & mozzarella) and “Die Birne” (grain bread with honey-mustard, homemade tomato pesto, goat cheese, rocket, honey-mustard, walnuts, grilled pear & parmesan). We were surprised that “Die Birne” was soo tiny compared to the “Mediterranean” albeit the price difference of 30 ct 🧐. It was delish, especially having grilled pear as a sweet contrast to the savory ingredients, but I don’t think I will have it again, as 5,10€ is a bit too expensive for a small sandwich. Neither was my friend impressed by the “Mediterranean” which she thought was kinda boring. However, we can only recommend their cakes! Those were simply delightful 👌🏼.
