On a serious not though in terms of the weekend ,fitness and alcohol, drinking every weekend does not bring me any closer to my goals physically or mentally 🙄

In terms of feedback on my check in for the week, it was positive and my food is actually increasing. Not something I am entirely comfortable with as I always associate cutting with decreasing calories but I am willing to trust the process and hope it pays off ⭐️🙌

An additional learning point of my plan thus far has also been to track your lifts in the gym. This is something I did sporadically in the past, however now I do it religiously. Each week then I try and build on my numbers, which makes my time in the gym more efficient, effective and rewarding 💪

2️⃣OK, so you have set up a consultation with a trainer in the gym. No this doesn't mean you're signing up for Personal Training, its your chance to tell the trainer exactly what you would like whether it is your own membership & program, personal training or classes. 
3️⃣If you can afford to invest, a personal trainer is ideal if you are a beginner or lacking confidence. A personal trainer should make you feel comfortable and guided through your training session. A few years ago coconut oil was the new ‘super food’ amid claims it helped with weight loss. However recently the furore around it seems to have died down but was coconut oil another fad or is there some benefits to it?

Coconut oil is a saturated fat made up of primarily medium chain triglycerides. It’s claim for benefiting weight loss stemmed from how studies showed it could increase our metabolic rate but the effects were so short lived, it wouldn’t have had a meaningful impact on fat loss. So loading coconut oil into dishes, mixing it into your coffee or eating it off a spoon in the hope to speed up fat loss would likely do more harm than good  as it’s calorie density outweighs its metabolic effects. 
However it does have some awesome benefits.

1. It’s a very easy dietary fat to digest which can be beneficial for individuals suffering from gallbladder issues and pancreatitis.

If you won the lottery tomorrow would your happiness and life satisfaction increase? Initially it more than likely would but as studies show, over time your levels of happiness will go back to the levels they were at prior to winning the lotto. So if you are misserable at present and happen to win the lottery tomorrow, in 2 years time you will probably still be misserable. But why is that? Well the habituation and adaptation principles of psychology might give us an answer. Simply put, what the habituation principle states is this: when we familiarise ourselves with something we get used to it. And when we become familiar with something important we can easily take it for granted and focus on something else that is not in our possession. This in turn creates a vicious loop for many people. Simply put we need to learn to want the things we already have more than the things that we don't have but want. Here's a good exercise to help you do just that👇

Exercise: close your eyes and think of the most important thing in your life. This could be somebody or something. Dwell on it for a moment. Think of how it makes you feel. Now recognise that this can be taken from you at anytime and imagine that scenario happening! Think of how unhappy and maybe even regretful you might feel. This exercise is called Negative Visualisation and helps you picture worst-case scenarios(possibilities) which in turn makes you more appreciative for the things you have. Try it out and see how you feel. Done correctly, when you come into contact with whatever your exercising it on your levels of internal well-being and gratefulness will increase. This exercise should be practiced on 'minor' and major things to attain tranquility. Your dog, the food you have, the house you live in and your family and friends etc💪
If you won the lottery tomorrow would your happiness and life satisfaction increase? Initially it more than likely would but as studies show, over time your levels of happiness will go back to the levels they were at prior to winning the lotto. So if you are misserable at present and happen to win the lottery tomorrow, in 2 years time you will probably still be misserable. But why is that? Well the habituation and adaptation principles of psychology might give us an answer. Simply put, what the habituation principle states is this: when we familiarise ourselves with something we get used to it. And when we become familiar with something important we can easily take it for granted and focus on something else that is not in our possession. This in turn creates a vicious loop for many people. I had never tried any of the Battle Oats products, so was really interested in trying these. There were three flavours in the box, this one was chocolate and coconut. This was tasty with a nice crunch. Not a massive coconut flavour, so if you weren't a coconut fan I think you might still like these. Nice to have it in two pieces, stopped me from eating it all in one go! I liked it and looking forward to trying the other flavours

Earlier today, I was emailing back and forth with a client about the progress she’s made during our first month working together. Despite being fairly consistent, her weight didn’t change much. Maybe a quarter or half-a-pound lost tops.

Especially when you consider the weight loss culture as a whole. All day long, you’re bombarded with catchy weight loss marking lines like:

—> “lose 10 pounds in 10 days!”
—> “Get your beach body in just 30 days or less!”
⠀
But(t🍑) while it’s totes okay to use weight as a tool for tracking progress, it’s not the only thing that matters...

Once my client and I started digging into the numbers a bit more, we discovered that she’d actually lost four total inches from her waist and hips! What’s more, her strength in the gym had gone up!

You see, there are oodles ’n’ bunches of things that count towards making progress.

Body weight is one, but there are also things like:

Progress Pictures
How Clothes Fit
Improved Workout Performance
How You’re Feeling! (often overlooked)

The Bottom Line ✅: stop attaching so much value to the scale.

Exceeding 80 g of fiber per day would probably cause some bloating as well as digestive and nutrient absorption problems.

Excessive fluid won't normally be trapped in the abdomen, but people do often cite subcutaneous water retention (water under skin) as the same thing as bloating. The average person has a diet high in sodium but low in potassium. This causes you to retain water. Undo this by consuming less processed food and consuming more fruits and vegetables. Believe it or not, having more water will also help flush out subcutaneous water. Lastly, cortisol is a stress hormone leading to water retention. Reduce your stress and you won't hold as much. .

Carbohydrates have always been the root of all evil when it comes to people losing weight. Well that’s what It sounds like when I hear people talking about their current weight loss regime. All of people believe that “carbs make them fat” so eating carbs after a certain time in the evening is usually a mortal sin 😳 So they usually do not eat them after 7pm and low and behold they lose weight 🤗

Made myself some gluten&sugar free protein French toast👌😍 I'm on a sugar detox at the moment to get my nutrition and mind properly back on track. The only sugar I eat is from some fruit, i.e. mainly berries as they are some of the lowest sugar fruits🍓🍓🍓 And honestly, all the vitamins & antioxidants in them more than outweigh the bit of sugar they contain in my opinion😄 #onmywaytobalance
