I’ll be staying in a hostel, an airbnb and a hotel. I also have plans of spending a night or two in Abu Dhabi.
I don’t want to show more than two sheets of paper to the immigration staff at the airport as I tend to be a bit clumsy when dealing with multiple documents so I booked a random hotel for the total duration of my stay and cancelled as soon as I got the confirmation print out.
The hotel I’ll be staying is a nice 4 star accommodation for the final night of my stay, gifted to me by the person who largely made this trip possible. Story for another day.
This would be my first time in an Airbnb and I’m sure its going to be the first of many. The Airbnb, though in the city centre happens to be the cheapest of my accommodation options.
Now to the interesting part, the hostel.
Hostels are a favorite among solo backpackers. It’s a holiday period and as much as I enjoy my own company, I don’t want to be alone on New Year’s eve especially in a foreign land.
This particular hostel is quite expensive in comparison to the average hostel but I turned a blind eye to the rates and decided to indulge in this ‘one against staying in hostels which may house residents or those seeking employment in Dubai on a limited visa.
You know, it could go two ways. Me having the time of my life with a bunch of strangers or meeting an Arab money prince.
Let me explain.
It’s possible a certain Arab money prince is sick of Dubai women only after his money so he would disguise himself as a pauper and check into this hostel so he could meet a foreign woman who would love him for who he is.
Then comes NSG who is seeking love as well after going through so much pain and sorrows from Nigerian men.
With her her beauty glowing like the morning sun, her good sense of humour, her intelligence and all round sweet personality, there is no way the Arab Money Prince would be able to resist this baby girl. 🥰
I want to start packing this weekend but I have been wondering what sort of clothing items I’ll be needing considering the weather. Some are saying it’s usually very cold this period. Others are saying the weather is just perfect.
I went through the timeline of Nigerian Celebrities who were recently in Dubai with the motive of borrowing from their fashion sense but most of them were wearing heels with school bag in Dubai. I don’t want to travel with heels.
The only thing I am sure of is I want to wear sweatpants with sneakers while traveling. I have always wanted to.
I need to shop for things for this trip now I still have time.
Since Dubai Shopping Festival falls that period there’a a temptation to buy what I’ll need when I get there but what if it turns out expensive or the shops stock clothes that are oversized on me?
Speaking of weight, I don’t know if I should add or lose weight for the trip or just leave my body to keep fluctuweighting as usual.
What’s the trend there regarding body sizes? What do Arab money princes like? Please let me know if I’ll be needing to start a carbohydrates diet or go the slim tea route ASAP.
Which hair do I make? Natural hair? Braids? Weaves? Long weaves or short weaves?
I’m enrolling in a makeup class this weekend. It’s for two weekends and I’ll be learning mostly facial contouring and highlighting. From my highlights they shall know me once I land.
Ugliness is not an option for this trip.
I want to look so fineeeee.
I want to look like an angel.
I want to look like the mami water of Dubai.
My beauty must be the talk of Dubai long after I return to Nigeria.
So I didn’t book my flight to Dubai because I was waiting for @Travelstartng’s Black Friday deals and its finally here. .
Return flights from Abuja to Dubai with Turkish Airlines = N208,889
Lagos to Dubai with Emirates = N263,000
Lagos to London with Virgin Atlantic= N322,999
Lagos to Houston with Turkish Airlines = 376,000
There are also discounted flights to Miami, New York etc and you can book them using the link on my bio. You’ll also find the window period of these deals.
Note that these offers will expire in 5 days, available on a first come, first book basis so don’t say you didn’t see this post. :)
Regarding the flights on Travelstart which are available to these destinations, I have noticed the closer the date to Christmas, the higher the ticket price.
Tickets for some Abuja to Dubai flights on Travelstart between now to third week of December is between 180k to 200k.
Tickets during Christmas week is 370k+, while a Lagos to Dubai ticket in January is slightly over 200k with some airlines.
Dubai shopping festival runs up to 26th January which makes January a good time to visit as well. I have been thinking if I should move my trip to January to save money or just risk it all and experience Christmas in the abroad?
Another tough decision is my choice of airline going by the options on Travelstart. I hear Emirates is one of the best in the world and they fly direct.
However, I have a thing for long layovers. It means more adventure for a curious cat like me and an opportunity to see another country so I don’t mind Egypt Air or Turkish Airlines.
I Googled if it snows in Istanbul during January/December and Google said Yesssss!
With God on my side, this means with a Lagos to Dubai ticket on Turkish Airlines I get to kill the Middle East, kill Europe, and kill snow with one stone.
I’m just happy to be having travel related problems which is yet another sign that I am now expensive. 😂
PS: The link to book is on my bio.
@Travelstartng says there’s a big giveaway going on so follow them to see more.
