Go Pro U13s Whites with a 4-3 this morning against Invictus. Sam Masters bossing the midfield with a man of the match performance. Go Pro U13’s Red with a 5-1 win of IJF and a man of the match performance from Adria Touner who showed great energy to get up and down the field. Well done to both teams #U13s#mydubai#myinsta#dubaimums#myfitness#dubaifitness#DESC

Now that the weather is cooling down, there’s a fantastic array of #organic produce available at the @farmersmarketme. Big bunches of basil for dhs5 can only mean one thing: Thermomix-made basil pesto in 20 seconds. Once you’ve made your own, you’ll never buy it in the shops again!
While taking a stroll with my 3-year old this afternoon, I noticed a toddler at a café who was clearly agitated. She was accompanied by her parents, who looked like they just wanted to enjoy a peaceful meal together. The little girl approached her father for something. At first, he responded with a smile, but the next moment he had his finger pointing at her face and said “Khallas” (in Arabic), which sort of meant ‘That’s it!’. She started wailing. He immediately gave her a hug, placed her on his lap, and gave her a few kisses to calm her. About half hour later, my son and I passed by the same café. This time the girl was wailing again, her father looking at her angrily and mumbling some words, while the mother looked upset and tired. He lifted her up again and sat her down on his lap. I thought, ‘AH…this must be so confusing for this toddler’. 🤱🏻It reminded me of the times when I’d been in that situation. Tired, just wanting to have a quiet time, failing to understand my kids, pretending to be cool-headed and then losing my temper at times, manipulating them into listening to me and exhausted from trying to be the perfect mom.
In this case, I don’t know what the parents or the toddler must’ve been through earlier in the day, or about their specific pain points.
What I do know now is that:
💝 Children need to feel SAFE around their parents.
💝 Children need to be able to TRUST their parents.
💝 Children need to feel SECURE with their parents.
Unpredictable parental behavior, unrealistic parent expectations, and physical, verbal or emotional abuse teach children that their environment is not a safe place and that the people they encounter cannot be trusted. You may insist that your love for your child is undiminished by his/her misbehavior. But how we feel about our children isn’t as important as how they experience those feelings and how they regard the way we treat them.
And that's a Wrap 🤱
This was 34hrs ago...and I guess it was my last time feeding Jack. It's been an incredible journey, it's been hard and it's been easy, it's been exhausting and it's been fulfilling. I'm incredibly grateful that it worked so well for us for so long. But now it's the end for us, it's time. He's more than happy with his bottle of Moo juice and I'm...well feeling quite emotional and sentimental.
I guess he was ready before I was...but isn't that how it often is with kids? I'm reminding myself of all the positives, more freedom, my body back to being my own, no more nursing bra's, or planning my outfits around access. Still though I'm having a little cry that it's over.
Any other mums found this transition a hard one?
Favourite room in the house, officially. ❤️ Now I have the carpet of dreams!
Happy early Christmas to me! (A rare moment of appreciating being an adult - not having to wait til Christmas for my present!!) Maybe if I sell an organ or two I can make every room in the house look as nice..?? #ourhome#villalife#dubaiinteriors#thisisthelife#heartofthehome
