We live in an exciting time in history where dreams are being championed, people are taking risks, and young people especially are being encouraged to follow their deepest passions
It seems at every corner I turn, I see someone who is dropping everything to open a business, becoming a self-proclaimed entrepreneur, or traveling the world in the name of art and adventure. They are embracing culture, stepping beyond the norm, and defying the usual expectations for people their age
This is beautiful. Daring. Exciting. Important
That being said, I think it important to shed light on the flipside of this trend. It can be really easy to see these people that seem to be dream-chasers and boundary-breakers and feel less than. It can be simple to have our frame of mind shift from excitement on their behalf to jealousy or anxiety for when we will reach our own success
These are incredible lies that need to be shot down and replaced by God's truth.
ANY job is a platform.
ANY city is a place where He can use you.
ANY dream can be an avenue for Kingdom-building when Christ is the center
Your identity will never be found in any of your successes, dreams, feelings, or goals.
It is found in Jesus alone
As children of God, our purpose is to know Christ and make Him known (holla at you @thenavigators). Our King of Kings will not be limited by vocation or location. If you don't feel like you know your "purpose" or "calling", step with confidence into the two greatest commandments that Christ gave us, to love Him and love others
