In 1993, Tomi Cvitanovich Head chef at his father’s restaurant, Drago’s invented the Charbroiled Oyster. Shucked oysters on the half shell, Flame grilled with butter, garlic, parmesan and herbs. Nothing could taste better.
The New Orleans bread served alongside is in isolation limp and pathetic but finds its true calling when dipped into the divine flame licked butter, the combination is so moreishly good even Gandhi would struggle to share. Nowadays charbroiled oysters are served throughout the city,
Tade & I didn’t plan on eating so many but we couldn’t help ourselves. The above pictures are in order of our top 3:

Although Merils are in third on this dish. They overall have the best food imo!
Thank You New Orleans
You know I’m going to give you the 4-1-1 on my eats while traveling. Dragos is a favorite in NOLA for their chargrilled oysters and we love them BUT the gag isssss we compared it to ACME within the same day and ACME won! Also the shrimp pasta stuffed lobster was good but the sauce was lacking flavor. Ask for the seafood pasta sauce and then it’s a hit! Trust me 😃
Now don’t get me wrong Dragos is good and still worth a visit @honeybtravel is curating a foodie trip experience to NOLA so look out for deets in the future. We love good food. 😁👌🏽 •
Well that escalated quickly🙈Swipe➡️➡️
The owner of dragos made Erica and I feel like ROYALTY! He even introduced us to redskins running back Derrius Guice! Thank you for taking care of us Tommy, I can’t wait to come back! If you haven’t tried their oysters, GO NOW. I cooked them myelf💁🏽♀️ #notreally
