⚖️ BODYWEIGHT ⚖️
In the 21st century it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking you’re overweight because of a number on the scale and a little thing called BMI!! 🙄
However as an athlete I have to weigh myself regularly to make sure I’m in the right weight category that I want to be in for competitions. At the moment I’m weighing myself every day until my competition next Saturday to make sure I stay within my weight category and don’t go over!! 🏋🏼♂️
It’s important to note though that your weight can fluctuate massively for a number of reasons, for example depending what time of the day your weigh yourself and whether or not you’ve been to the toilet! (Yes it’s true I weighed myself before and after and I lost 0.35kg) I use an app called @happyscale that smooths out these fluctuations to show a true trend in your bodyweight!! (Thanks @macrodad) 🙌🏻
But next time you find yourself stressing over the number on the scales, just ditch them and just look in the mirror to see the difference!! 💗

The only reason why I look a baby bit tired is one my girls decided it would be fun to wake up at 3 am and think it was play time 😂 it’s so cute cause I’m like awwwwh snuggles with my baby girl but not fun when she gives you 5cm of bed and rolls around for an hour and kicks you in the face ...mumlife ...twinmumlife 👶🏻👶🏻😅
But I still managed to go to work and train my butt off 💪🏼

Viewing this topic from a sports nutrition perspective, there is evidence to suggest that consuming dairies does seem to be an effective short-term strategy for weight loss. The high protein content, especially in milk, makes it a good option to include in your diet. What’s more? The quality of proteins found in dairies is excellent and the combination of whey (quick-absorbing) and casein (slow-absorbing) proteins makes it even better.
There are a few factors that come into play for weight loss, but the underlying factor is essentially burning more calories than you consume. Having said that, increasing protein intake throughout your weight loss journey is really important. Not only does it help preserve muscle mass, but it also allows for weight loss to occur from fat rather than muscle. So, when you’re in a calorie deficit, you may not feed yourself with enough food, let alone protein, to maintain muscle mass – which is why you may well end up losing weight from muscle rather than fat. Obviously, the last thing you want is to lose weight from muscle! By adding dairies into your nutrition program, you can further add to your daily protein requirements, increase muscle mass and lower your body fat levels. In combination, you’ll lose weight the proper way.
