At the @watkinsmuseum in @downtownlawrenceks, you can find all kinds of local gems. Tales of collective action & activism, triumph & tragedy. You can also find several Jayhawk alumni at work, driven by a commitment to connect its visitors through the stories of Douglas County's communities. 👨⚕️👩🎓👨🎨 Take a look inside & meet our Hawks at the Watkins - Link in bio. Did you know we have LOTS of advent calendars? Most of them can be stitched up in an afternoon. So you’ve still got time, 16 days to be exact, before they need to be hung and filled with goodies. #handmadeholiday#downtownlawrence

As the sun sets on hopes of warm weather, let’s not forget about the cocktail that kick-starts many people’s love for a well-made mixed drink. Our “FREE LAWRENCE” old fashioned, shot here by @bryan_arri, has always combined a number of bourbon and rye whiskies, sherry, and amaro. Because cold weather begs for additional warming elements, we’ve added a touch of peated scotch, Foursquare rum, Copper & Kings brandy, and black walnut to this season’s blend. Our best-selling drink for well over two years just got better; stop by and see what you’re missing out on, and be sure to visit Bryan’s profile and check out his quest to find the best old fashioned in the KC area.
This snowy weather definitely has us in the holiday spirit! We’ve started putting out our holiday cards (like this one from @clapclapdesign) and wrap if you’re ready to get a head start on your shopping. We’re getting new products in the shop every single day! #holiday#christmascard#holidaycard#themostwonderfultimeoftheyear
Happy game day from snowy Lawrence! Remember, if the Hawks score at least 70 tonight along with a win, we will have a storewide discount all day tomorrow! Keep an eye out for the deals!!!! ##TheNitch#DowntownLawrence#Snowday#ShopLocal
Current Sunflower Ceramics, 1002 New Hampshire Street in Lawrence. In the 1920’s and 30’s, Phillips 66 opened a number of gas stations in the Midwest in a style called the “Cotswold Cottage.” The station now occupied by Sunfire was built in 1927 (the last pic is not Sunfire, but another station built in the cottage style). #lawrenceks#downtownlawrence#lfk
