White wine, flour and sugar. Goodness in simplicity.
½ glass of extra virgin olive oil from delicate olives or seeds
½ glass of brown cane sugar + another sugar to review the biscuits before baking them
½ glass of still white wine
Type 1 flour enough to make the dough workable, smooth and not sticky (I needed about 5 glasses)
1 pinch of baking soda (but just a pinch on these small quantities) (optional)
1 pinch of salt
Procedure for the preparation of donuts with red wine.
Mix oil, wine, salt and 1/2 cup of sugar and anise seeds.
Now start adding flour (with a pinch of baking soda, optional) and knead; add flour until you get a mouldable dough, I need 5 glasses but you evaluate at the time: it will depend on the humidity of the environment and that of the flour itself.
Try to get a soft, smooth and not too sticky dough.
Let the dough rest in the fridge for at least 30 minutes.
Prepare a bowl with some sugar and keep it aside, you will use it to review the biscuits in the sugar before baking, while heating the oven to 180 ° C.
Resume the dough and with your hands form as many rolls as thick as a little finger, cut a segment together the ends forming donuts that you will pass only on one side in the sugar cane.
I make them big.
Arrange them on the baking paper, taking care to keep the sugared side upwards.
Bake 180 ° until cooking, about 15/20 minutes, the cooking time will depend above all on the final size that you gave to your donuts to red or white wine, the smaller they are before they will cook.
Thank youuuuu to all who came out for my very first donut event yesterday! Special shoutout to @toppottexas for providing the space and to #dallasartist @colorsnack for being such a talented instructor. My heart is full! Just getting started with events like these and can’t wait to share more! In the meantime, check out more photos and behind-the-scenes on zee blog [link in bio]. Sweet dreams!
I want to tell you something that just might make your sundae!!! (See what I did there?) 😉It’s national Dessert Day, so why not finish out the weekend with a little self indulgence? Fun fact about me? After high school I worked at Legendary Donuts and it was my favorite job ever! People are pretty happy to pick up a sweet treat! So I see this holiday as an excuse to swing by my favorite donut shop for breakfast. What’ll you do for Dessert Day? Does it beat my French Toast donut? 🍩
