To understand our negativity, we need to raise our awareness of the unconscious stories we tell ourself, the stories that cause us to get in our own way. The reason we experience a story is that unconsciously we feel unsafe. Unsafe to voice our opinions, unsafe to feel love, unsafe to be successful... ALL stories and ALL negativity, without exception, relate to our past. Each story has arisen from one or a combination of traumas we have experienced in our past and when we tell ourself a story and we experience the negativity, we are reliving the past in the ‘here and now’. The first step toward making any change is to notice the self. Pay attention to the negativity and the stories we tell ourself. Search our own thinking to become aware of our thoughts and self-talk.
Notice the feelings and behaviours that stop us. Seek to understand the motivation behind our stories, get honest about what is going on and what you want instead!
It's too easy to forget, we have a choice about how we choose to live our life…through negativity and fear, or joy and happiness!
Give yourself the best gift of all, YOU!
Life is what we make it out to be. We can't control a lot of the things that happen to us but we can always control how we respond and how we react to it. Keep your mind in a state of gratefulness, love and NEVER GIVE IN. Your mind is one fo the most powerful things you have. so if we can simply change our mind and our attitude we can change our life. #focus#grind#dontquit#makeithappen#attitude#goals#life#fitnessdestinations

My good friend Megan @sweetsauceblog came out with her badass bro Ryan @wakelifewheeler last night and threw down HARD. 💪💪 *
I kept noticing that Megan kept smiling, even while “suffering” through a gnarly workout in the summer sun 🌞 Remember, suffering is a choice... and you don’t have to do it in solitude. Smiling is contagious 😁... so do it in solidarity, “suffer” with friends, smile with your squad. #squadup#humpdayhills#lionhearted 🦁🦁 * **
“In order to win, you can’t ever quit.”
Life is so funny AND often times we tell ourself more often than not “I can’t”
Today’s workout was HARD. I found myself constantly saying “I just can’t” and then I heard a little voice say- “mama yes you can, you can do anything”
Hold the tears. Honestly, I stopped. Gave him a hug and busted out the next 15 minutes like no ones business.
My hubby had just had this conversation with him yesterday because we are in a stage of “I can’t do anything” ❤️
So thankful for my hubby having that conversation because I might not have had the inspiration without it.
Don’t quit. Tell yourself you can. Believe in yourself. Set the example. Rise above the rest.
"For that moment when you feel like quitting"
Postsecrect submission from Twitter
Stress has been exhausting me lately. Things and situations in my personal life are weighing heavy with me. This was a great reminder that all things work out the way it's intended and quitting is not an option.
When life throws you curveballs, keep on going! You dont stop driving just because there is a bend in the road.
Maybe there's a cliff around the corner, or maybe there's an incredible view. Whichever one it is, it's the right path for you.
22 months... That’s how long it’s been since I’ve been able to do any strength training, something I LOVE.
That’s when I pretty much gave up on any fitness because I was in constant pain from tendonitis in my elbow.
Little did I know at the time, that sitting at a desk job all day was not only causing elbow pain, but would eventually cause back pain, and a general decline in my health.
After a nightmarish ordeal with work comp, lots of PT, and a steroid injection, I started improving.
But the magic really happened when I quit my job.
No more sitting all day, no more resting elbows on a desk, and no more days in a windowless office!
But of course I wasn’t out of the woods!
Just as my elbow was healing, I had a very public and embarrassing near fall that caused injury to my shoulder.
But it’s not severe, and my physical therapist has given me the green light to lift light weights, doing high reps.
Back to Body Pump baby!!! Things can get frustrating, and hard, and you’re going to feel like giving up.
It’s the worst of times that make us the strongest!
What I see every morning as I make my way downstairs. 🌞 I've surrounded myself with messages of love, positivity and perseverance.
More on this later when @nikkis.rambles returns. 😉 #dontquit#lovelightpositivity
Going from tie to stripes. A little sleepish this evening, but working hard knowing that it is going to pay off. •••••• Know your goals and fight to make them happen. Sometimes you have to sacrifice a little to gain a lot. 🙌🏻😏
