This morning I was presented with an opportunity with my daughters’ father where my initial reaction was to defend myself and illustrate all of the ways where I was right. I spent my drive to drop her off at camp mentally coming up with all of the things I should say and how I should say them.
After dropping her off, I decided to go sit by the bay and take some time to pray and meditate. I asked for guidance on how to find peace in the situation. After some time- God spoke to me and said. “Be still and do nothing”. Be still and do nothing?!?! Really?
Then I remembered the ACIM Course teaching “Would you rather be right, or would you rather be happy”. I will always choose happiness. So, I will listen to the guidance I received, and I will do nothing.
Sometimes we just need to step back from a situation and be STILL. Ask for GUIDANCE and then LISTEN. The ego will always seek to divide and defend. Your true self has no need to defend because happiness takes precedence over rightness. Rest in God knowing that he is working through you to bring the greatest good.

Herz vs. Kopf?
Bis vor kurzem war ich ein totaler Kopfmensch was Entscheidungen betraf. Beziehungsweise wenn ich mich dann mal zu was entschieden habe, war es immer der Kopf, der nach Sicherheit gerufen hat. Ich bin nämlich auch die Art Mensch die sich irgendwie nie entscheiden kann. Fragen wie: gehen wir die Hausrunde oder die Waldrunde spazieren? Essen wir die Zucchini heute oder morgen? Schauen wir heute Film x oder Film y? Gehen wir in Restaurant x oder y essen? Gehen wir um 8 auf den Markt oder um 10? Bei diesen kleinen Entscheidungen versuch ich mich immer irgendwie aus der Verantwortung zu ziehen und sage: "Entscheide du" zu meinem Freund (oder anderen) - Da Marc aber die Problematik kennt, macht er das nicht mehr mit und manchmal geht es so lange hin und her bis einer von uns ausrastet 🤷♀️ und mein Freund dann doch entscheidet. Das war bis vor kurzem so, ich versuche immer mehr in meine eigene Kraft und Verantwortung zu kommen und SELBER zu entscheiden, weil es ein Geschenk ist. Warum geben wir unsere Energie an andere Menschen ab? Insgeheim in unserem Herzen wissen wir doch die Antwort ❤️ und ich wusste es damals bei meinem ex Arbeitgeber auch. Ich hatte zwei Jobangebote und hab aus dem Kopf heraus entschieden obwohl mein Herz schon damals Teilzeit arbeiten wollte & ich schon ein entsprechendes Job Angebot hatte. Aber damals hat mein Kopf nach Sicherheit geschrieen & ich habe auch nicht gedacht dass mein Yoga gleich so gut läuft. Aber mein Herz wusste es damals 😍 Also wurde ich richtig unglücklich im letzten Job und hab mir immer gedacht "danke Kopf" JETZT stehe ich wieder vor einer beruflichen Entscheidung & mein Kopf sagt wieder Sicherheit - der Job in der Industrie & mein Herz sagt der Job in einem alternativen Cafe. Auch wenn ich im Cafe etwas mehr arbeiten müsste für die 450 € - das ist mir egal. Wenigstens keine Umgebung wo ich irgendetwas aufsetzen müsste, mich zurückhalten müsste. Klar verdiene ich mehr Geld in der Industrie (Büro) Aber wo ist da die Menschlichkeit? Was nützt mir das Geld wenn ich unglücklich bin? Zum ersten Mal bin ich so glücklich mit meiner ❤️ Entscheidung!

The other day someone sent me a message that really hit home for me. It said something along the lines of, “What darkness did you have to walk through to get here? It usually takes some pain to find the light that you have within you...”
First off, what a question(!!!) I revel in the growing capacity of humans being able to talk about the juicy stuff...The matters of the heart.
That being said, the question completely knocked me off my toes. The more I thought about it, the more I realized I was not living entirely in my truth.
I have not been accepting the dark parts of my past. I have not been honoring its significance. I have been using positivity to resist against it, instead of embracing the light and dark together as divine parts of who I am.
I feel down to the marrow of my bones that my purpose in life is to help others seek, recognize, and bask in their inner light. To join together and spread messages of love. But in order to do that, I need to be able to fully embrace the whole process myself. The process of deep diving and accepting the dualities that live within me. Sometimes we need a reminder that it’s okay to fully embrace all the sides of the human experience.
It’s easy to pick up your phone, get to scrolling, and see someone else’s winning moments on social media. Most of the time we have no idea about the path they walked to get there. The path is the important part. It’s what humbles us and let’s us know we’re in this together. The path allows us to share and connect over our progress, not a false identity of perfection.
This photo is so symbolic of that process to me. This rough metal cage in the middle of the great, free & green Mother N isn’t exactly a thing of beauty. But you have to walk through it in order to get to the incredible 130 foot waterfall at the bottom.
Life isn’t always beautiful. I want to begin sharing my life more authentically.. all of the conflicting & graciously imperfect human sides of it. Our stories.. even if they help just one person, it could change everything. In showing up like this, we truly have the ability to raise each other up and make our world a better place to be.
At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can
I’m at the southern most tip of 🇺🇸 this week visiting my family’s Texas ranch. A place that has gained a lot of national media attention recently for treating human beings as if they were animals. This family separation crisis has been happening since I grew up here. It doesn’t embody American values and needs to stop immediately. Years of being a child abuse and neglect social worker taught me the complexities of emotional trauma these families will strive to overcome
If you’ve ever been to my yoga classes, you’re likely familiar with the closing mediations I lead, asking you to send metta to all beings everywhere, so that we all feel safe and at ease. Now you know the root of what motivates me to remind you, that when you rise from your mat, it’s a fresh opportunity — through your words and your actions—to leave your mark on this world so that it’s little better than how you found it. I appreciate each of you who choose to live a life of impact through your words and actions towards others. No human is illegal. No fences or borders can separate the tenacity of the human spirit to thrive in the most unlikely of circumstances 💪🏽

Yoga is challenging, but not so much in a physical sense than it is in a mental way. Your mind is far more difficult to get right and quiet than any pretzel-ly pose (we just know the ancient yogis would agree with us on this one). Once you conquer your mind, even just a little bit, who knows? You may even crack open your heart 💛
A different way of looking at your monthly cycle and time itself as a guide to live, rest, nourish and repeat. Or when to push and when to relax. We live in such a solar society where we award the people constantly trudging that uphill battle and resting is not seen as a high priority.
To help my tribe of passionate and hardworking bossladies (who may or may not have a running to-do list keeping them awake), I’ve included at the end of today’s episode is a meditation to relax and restore – to learn to get out of your own way for your body to heal.

This am i took an awesome yoga class @yogaerie and i loved one of the songs so much i got myself out of the moment to repeat it over and over in my head so i wouldn’t forget. Then i was like shit.... get present. Lol the more i do yoga, the more i teach, the more present i am. I used to question it. Now if i catch my mind i just bring it back. I find myself super present when I’m teaching. I literally can’t focus on anything else. During Buti i find myself super present and close my eyes a lot lately. Just feel, breathe, move... ~ I’ve had a few conversations about this lately • What I think we have to remember is what people are projecting out to you has nothing to do with you, and EVERYTHING to do with them • People try to transfer their own pain onto others because it’s easier, then they don’t have to face themselves and face the truth - People who trigger us are the mirrors we don’t want to look in - The way we see the world says everything about who we are inside, and has nothing to do with anything or anyone else • I had a random lady the other day say something rude to me, and yes, while I realized it bothered me, I had the awareness to stop, and think about how much she must be hurting inside in order to spew negativity at someone else like that for no reason - And looking at it that way truly changed my perspective • When we can change our awareness about the people around us it is so freeing - You don’t have to let anyone throw their issues at you - Walk away, and know that they have to work out who they are inside for themselves - That is not your responsibility ~ Remember that we choose how we let others treat us, and once you see this truth there’s no going back to being anyone’s doormat or punching bag • Have compassion but also strong boundaries - Choose love and spread kindness always 🖤

Hello! Long time, no see... Don’t we all need that sometimes? 🤷🏼♀️ I still feel like I could take a couple more ‘vacation’ days. But I popped on to talk about the enlightening day that my mom and I shared yesterday. We mentally prepared ourselves for the inevitable challenges we would face, we smiled through it (even if it was forced at first), cleaned up and filtered all the shit out, and saged the entire apartment with only the best intentions. 🌬✨ It was a very beautiful moment of clairvoyance and both of us were receiving such profound downloads from The Universe, directing us to the lessons learned, reminders for the important difficulty of some days and the next steps to follow. 🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼🌼

Its funny how when I’m busy + stressed, my self care goes out the window. All of a sudden I don’t have time for yoga or meditation or eating nutritiously - aka all the things that make me less stressed 🙆🏻♀️ So then I feel double anxious bc on top of being stressed I’m not managing it well 🤦🏻♀️ So here’s your Tuesday night reminder to TAKE A DEEP BREATH and calm the heck down 💁🏻♀️
Dog hugs. Some things are so pure.
Some things are so impure. Dogs don’t scam, take advantage, lie, blink their wide eyes at you while lying, putting on over theatrical performances with wild tales and then claiming to be a victim because you question the over obvious trick and wool being pulled over your eyes. Some people exist with integrity and believe in hard work and getting ahead by their own merits, some are parasites that exist off exploiting others and manipulation. I think all humans run into both types. It saddens me every time I realize that it takes all sorts to make up this world. And when I rub elbows with bad people without seeing them for what they are: I have to forgive myself for blinding my own eyes.... didn’t Albert Einstein once say: “the more I become familiar with the nature of men, the more I love my dog.”(?) I find myself having a hard time staying soft and open in such a hard, closed environment. But we walk this Earth to be a blessing to others.... and we live in this world but we don’t have to play the game of life by the snakes rules. We can choose very very differently- turn on your heel, put your head up, and walk the other route. And it’s ok to acknowledge “yeah I was lost and distracted by your game you got going. I allowed this in my world for a time. I allowed myself to think the best in someone who was out for doing bad things. I got tangled in a web. But thank you for my lesson, as it really gave me wisdom.” Now I can see many bad people from a mile away, and I wouldn’t be able to if it hadn’t been from experiences. So I guess, thank you God for teaching me.... even if I was a knucklehead for so long! I started giving reiki sessions this month and it has been INCREDIBLE!! My practice has deepened, as has my connection with the unseen. When I was little, I had a sense that this was a part of me. Today I know that this is just the tip of the iceberg 😎💪🏼.
It’s less magical than you think. Because at the heart of it, what is reiki? CONNECTION..
It is the connection between different organs.
It is the connection between mind, body, soul.
It is the connection between all beings and this world we live in.
How can we ensure that we are moving in accordance with the patterns and cycles set by this universe, rather than fighting against them?.
Okay it may still feel kind of magical. But who couldn’t use a LITTLE magic in their life?
You can meditate 🙌🏽 If you think you “don’t know how” or you’re “doing it wrong”, just practice these 3 steps. ✨Breathe ✨Observe your thoughts, feelings, energy, and body with friendliness, compassion and lovingkindness. Leave the judgement behind. Forgive yourself when you’ve wandered off.✨Repeat

We spend so much time and energy paddling upstream - against the current. Focusing on the vast contrast from where we are now and where we want to go (ie 40 pounds lighter, pay off all debt, heal anxiety, etc)
So we start working harder and harder - buying all the weight loss programs, meal plans, gym memberships to feel more overwhelmed, lost and further to the goal than before.
The secret is downstream. Throw those paddles down and relax! Or in other words, how do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time.
When we focus on small positive shifts in thoughts then we are able trust the river stream to guide us to that end goal. Changing our internal environment FIRST before taking action.
You cannot control anything in life or the stream itself but you can keep choosing the better choice again, again and again. And a funny thing will happen - life will just keep getting better and better.
