*** It’s hot as balls, so yes, I have shorts on! I’ve always hated my legs, so I never wear shorts but it’s too hot in #Charlotte and I’m 50...embracing my legs!😱#dontcare @trxtraining
When I got to college I started to care too much about what other people thought of me. I became super self-conscious of myself and overly aware of my surroundings. —This started me on my fitness kick—
I didn’t realize how bad it had become until I found myself not stepping out for fear of what other people would think of me.
But what I’ve realized recently is that:
1. People don’t pay attention to you as much as you think they do
2. People don’t care as much as we think they do
3. People are probably more worried about themselves than you
So...why should I even care what other’s think of me? Why am I letting people’s possible opinions of me keep me from being myself and doing what I want?
Be confident in who you were created to be and be bold enough not to care what other’s think of you.
Today I welcomed a new, sustainably sourced, bamboo brush to my hair care team! I have a lot of hair and I don't wash it often because I want to focus on bringing out my natural hair oils. This requires me to focus on naturally conditioning my hair, through the distrubution of my hair's oils. My pink afro-pick from the 80's (passed down from my mom) is nice to detangle after the shower, but it wasn't distributing my hair's oils effectively. Research shows a wooden bamboo brush is best at distributing hair's oils from scalp to tip; plus, it won't cause my hair to static like plastic brushes do. Also, the wood bristles are stronger, so I won't have to worry about the bristles breaking, like on my blue styling comb. To say the least, I can't wait to use this babe everyday in my self-care routines! I should note, after having my plastic hair tools for over a decade, I won't get rid of them just because I got a new brush, that is wasteful. I'll just keep using them for their strengths and see how much longer they can last me!
Anyone curious about where to buy a bamboo hair brush, @thewildminimalist sells them. I appreciate them as a supplier, because they send their packages completely plastic-free, with all compostable paper material!
