Losing abdominal fat vs losing thigh/leg fat
One study on women done over 15 weeks concluded if you do high intensity intermittent training 3 times a week you lose more overall weight and fat from your legs than if you do steady cardio.
However there was another study done over 14 months on obese women who trained at 55% of their max for 90 mins 4-5 times a week. They lost more fat from their stomach than from their legs and didn't lose any muscle... So... High intensity for overall weight loss especially targeting lower body 3 times a week
Steady state 55-70% 60- 90minutes 4 times a week to lose fat from stomach. As this study was done over 14 months it is suggested you make this a habit that you can incorporate in your every day life ie walking

I’ve been really enjoying all the posts under the #weDoitAll campaign, admiring all the incredible men and women out there who are totally KILLING it in their careers... balancing work life, families, businesses, self care, studies, etc. Thank you, @dralrahmani for kindly tagging me- I had initially scrolled through thinking... “PFFT, I don’t have much to talk about here, I really am not doing anything meaningful or impressive to share” .
I think a lot of us carry this mentality, until you take a step back and recognize that you’ve actually accomplished a lot more than you think...largely because we live in “survival mode”, trying to naturally balance different roles. You may not feel like you’re “doing it all”, (or even doing it well) but you’re certainly doing a LOT and putting in that effort. I think that’s something you should definitely be proud of, and give yourselves credit for. . .
This year, I decided to take a step back and recognize my roles as a physician, mother, wife and caregiver to a child with a disability has consumed a large chunk of my life these past 7 years, and the biggest thing I decided to do for myself this year was invest more into self care. I hated all forms of exercise.... and sports? I can’t catch/throw/kick a ball if my life depended on it, but mixed martial arts (bjj and muay thai ) was something that I could learn. I NEVER thought I would have time to invest in this skill, but there’s always a way to make it happen. You really can #doitall as long as you are committed and determined. Adapt, prioritize, evaluate the circumstances, and be creative with your time. #shecanbeboth
Thank you @dryazdan for starting this movement and including me. Tagging some other incredible folks who inspire me
This 💕 .... At my first nurse practitioner gig I befriended Jimmy, an old introverted maintenance man who seemed rough around the edges. His life wasn't easy, but through those emotions was a heart of gold. .....
He knew I walked home alone every night and sometimes not until 9pm, so he taught me some karate moves and gave me pepper spray to keep me safe (This was as amazing as you are envisioning 💪😁) ... I bought him a gift card to take his wife for a special night out. He cried. It was like I bought him a house. .....
My goal when I meet anyone in life, is to NEVER make them feel inferior to me... I don't want to feel inferior to someone nor do I want to feel superior to someone. I want to be one. I want the people I interact with to feel safe and welcomed. This has helped me get through tough conversations as well.
This is easy for me... At the end of the day, I am the Janitor and the CEO 🙏🏼💕🙏🏼
love xoxo .....
Growing up I didn’t have opportunities so I made my own. And some may wonder why I train so hard. Working out has changed my life. #BrooklynTank#TrainHardEveryone 😤😡✊💪
When it comes to fitness I push myself to have no weakness. I want everything that’s fitness. #DoItAll . #Tankfitness
Shout out to all my hard workin moms out there. Those of you who juggle T-ball and baseball and football and all the other sports - not to mention cheer, dance, laundry, dinner, being the glue in your relationships, planning the activities and executing date night plans... all of this while growing your business. You are STRONG! You are already as awesome as you need to be! You are enough! www.aubreymarket.com #bossbabe#leaderlady#doitall#haveyourcakeandeatittoo#neversettle#businessowners#smallbusiness#shoplocal
Ain’t no rest for the wicked.
Okay, so technically today is a rest day. But here’s the problem: I’ll get home from Texas late tonight, only to fly out to Nashville early tomorrow morning. .
I’ll be the first person to admit.. I’m not exactly a morning person. I’d rather squeeze in a workout today than risk sleeping through an early alarm tomorrow. Because #noexcuses right?!
That’s part of the beauty of this program.. it fits my life, no matter how busy or chaotic it can get. 4 days a week.. 30ish minutes a day.. it fits my life because I MAKE it fit my life. .
If it’s important to you, you’ll find a way. If not, you’ll find an excuse.
