We’re at the halfway mark of the #SOULTOGETHER challenge!
This month’s challenge has been the BEST unintended nudge forwards, to put my own physical & mental wellness at the top of my to-do list.
And it feels unapologetically DAMN GREAT!
In just 2 weeks time — and same life’s stresses...
the space within my body feels BETTER.
the space within my mind feels LIGHTER.
the space within my heart feels FULLER.
No calories logged.
No scale to check.
No diet to stick to.
No punishment to my mind or body.
I am a work in progress. And even when the challenge is over by month’s end, I think I’ve restarted something really good for my soul.

My body is not as toned and tight as it used to be, but I'm the healthiest - (Mind+Body) I've ever been and I feel amazing. Still working on stricking a balance to get the right amount of protein to build muscle, but taking my time.

I want to talk about these clothes...I’ve been thinking a lot about voting with my wallet. I’ve also been super excited to try some clothes from @outdoorvoices. They’re marketing and philosophy promoting the beauty of real people’s bodies, #doingthings , and interesting innovations in technical fabrics has had my attention. I had a long needed day alone in Soho last week. I got a badass haircut from the very best @brandybnyc, got some new eco-friendly beauty products for my stressed and puffy mommy face, and found this recycled textile activewear top to compliment the Hudson short. Not only do these digs make me feel beautiful and ready to sweat, the performance is of the best I’ve ever had! I got stuck running in the rain, while coincidentally listening to @greendreamerpodcast about recycled textiles. I ran through the rain back to the gym in my building, and my clothes dried quickly and still felt great! I ran, I did weights and a full yoga sesh. On this day, the space felt ample and each experience a full gift! the best part of my day recently is either waking up to yoga or ending the day with it. i’ve been practicing yoga on/off for the last four years and it’s helped me through everything and then some so when i get back into the routine of going super frequently, i always feel my best. i notice the days i go to yoga vs. the days i don’t how many stress levels are so different. can’t wait to hit the mat this week at @studiothreechi (ps the best part about yoga there is you don’t have to bring a mat — perfect for after work. and they have @mandukayoga mats which imo are the best!) amidst another crazy busy week. happy monday friends ✨🧞♀️🙏🏻 // #chickpeainthecity#studiothreechi#partner#outdoorvoices#doingthings#lululemonchi 📸: @samanthaparquette

I’ve been working on taking my self-care routines to a whole new level by switching out some of my old products for more natural ones. I’ve also been adding in some new ones + totaling cutting out others (I rarely wear make up anymore 😱)
This is something that is important to me, because if I’m going to pay so much thought and attention to what I’m putting IN my body, I need to do the same for what goes ON my body.

Two thing that I always hear are that there is a shortage of equipment Pilates in the city (so true), and that it’s very expensive. In order to make equipment Pilates more accessible, once a week I am going to post a video of 3 exercises that you can do at home that emulate reformer, chair, barrel etc...exercises! First off from the Reformer, Semaphore, Side Sit Ups and Pulling Sword. Stabilize the band under the supporting knee using glutes and obliques, side bend over without sitting in the low back and repeat this exercises 8-10 times 3 rounds through. Voila - reformer! Note - we do these exercises in my barre and Pilates classes too! #pilatesforthepeople
