It’s not everyday I get the opportunity to meet someone that has influenced my career from a far in person. Last night it was my honor to have dinner with @larrykrohn and talk dogs amongst a table of fellow dog trainers @confidentk9s . @dogsunleashedk9training , @k9_training__with_byron , @aliciadennelly and @meetthechows .
Thank you so much for talking the time out of your busy schedule, and for all you do to help dog’s live better lives with their humans as well as share so much of your knowledge to help us help others. You are an incredible human Larry, we need more people like you in this world.
Next year at @iacpdogs conference in Colorado!!
If you want your dog to look at you like you’re important, then become important to your dog. -
Another great day of the Indiana seminar is coming to a close. Lots of learning and teaching going on. One of the biggest things that I stress at every seminar is the importance of the “small stuff”.
Crate manners, thresholds, the structured walk. All of these small things add up and either shape the dog that you want or the dog that you struggle with. -
My seminars focus on teaching the attendees to notice these little moments, how to trouble shoot almost any scenario, and most importantly, empower them to create a better life and relationship with their dogs. -
Most folks think you need to build a special bond with a dog before you begin training, but the truth is, you need to create respect. And you do so through the right training. You will become much more important to your dog once you start providing leadership and structure.
Magnus doing a phenomenal job at his go home session. He came to us extremely human and dog reactive. -
We have done a ton of exposure with him to get him out of his comfort zone and familiar with new situations. -
We have also had his owners coming in consistently throughout his training program since he was not displaying his reactive behaviors for us. It was solely when they were around. -
We focus so much on the relationship/training of the human to ensure that owners will have the most successful life possible with their dog.
It starts all over again, this weekend in Elkhart, IN another 2 days of awesome learning and fun. I am so excited to be here teaching and sharing with a fantastic group of people. Spending a lot of time helping folks learn how to stop unwanted behaviors with their dogs. www.rvdogtrainer.com
