Met this guy a couple months ago and wants I started following I found out that this guy is the man. They seem to rescue sick dogs and take care of them. They seem to do amazing things and I think everyone should donate to support what they do. Once I figure out how to I will to. #Repost @barks_n_barbells with @get_repost
**Chewy Update** Our little man did great for his MRI today. Everyone is absolutely in love with him and he makes friends every where he goes! This MRI was very interesting, so much in fact that the amazing Dr. Bishop said “I have looked at 5000 MRI’s and have never seen anything like this”. I’ll start this by saying it is not hydrocephalus like we thought and we had an incidental finding. Let’s start with the main reason he was there, the large fluid filled “mass” on his head. It looks like a large self contained fluid cyst which is the easy part, the strange part is that floating in said cyst are a bunch of little masses. While under, Dr. Bishop was able to take a needle aspiration of both the fluid and the mass. Now we have to wait until tomorrow for the results from those aspirates to come back.
Now the other finding, he has a brain tumor 😔 Found at the base of his skull, still a small tumor but very upsetting to hear. This will be placed on the back burner until we address the more pressing issue.
Ok, so here is the proposed plan. We will see what the results come back with and plan an operation with Dr. Bush, a board certified surgeon to open up and remove everything that has filled up in his forehead and do more testing if needed. Then we will look into radiation treatment for the tumor on his brain.
We will do everything we can to give Chewy the life and family he deserves for as long as his quality of life is great.

Our dogs are our world. I don’t know what we would do without them. They are goofy and sweet and aging. My goofy girl with a feather on her nose is 11. The rotten boy making himself comfortable in my bed is 9. They are not as spry as they once were. I cannot begin to imagine our lives without them but each new white strand in their fur reminds me that eventuality is coming whether I want it to or not. ⠀
In the meantime, though, I’ll just continue love them because there’s no other choice.
Since I have over 100 followers, I thought I’d share some things about myself!!! I’m a nine-year-old guy from Kentucky! I was rescued in March from a hoarding situation and brought to Minnesota, where my forever home is. In the last six months I’ve been neutered and got my teeth fixed up. I lived with two foster parents who both loved me very much. One of them even said she would adopt me if she didn’t have so many doggies already. I haven’t had a great life (and I have a hole in my ear to prove it!), but I think my retirement years are going to be pretty sweet. ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
